the BT/WiFi module died and, not knowing, I ran a firmware update on it, which makes the system check all the hardware and if anything’s not right it shows an error message. There’s no way past it short of replacing the WiFi/BT module, which is a BGA board and replacing it requires advanced soldering skills and equipment that I don’t have.
 
- Started overthinking a lot today and yesterday, but might’ve managed to put my feelings down
- Noticed my phone has been a bit unresponsive. I’m not gonna trash apple products but I’m not gonna say they’re notorious for lasting long either. I’ve had mine for 3 years, which is good in terms of a modern phone lifespan
+/- still waiting for my PS3 to arrive. On one hand I’m getting quite impatient, but on the other I’m enjoying watching a lot of PlayStation videos lately
 
Honestly 3 years is what I'd expect as bare minimum from an Apple product, I'll concede I'm somewhat surprised it's starting to falter. Though I suspect it might vary depending on workload, these days I don't tend to do anything particularly stressing for a smartphone so I wonder if the issue would have been as pronounced if I were in your shoes.

Out of curiosity, what PS3 model have you gotten? I've been mulling over nosing about CEX and seeing if I can get an original PS3 phat. I'd like to be able to play the first three gens of Playstation with physical copies, as I've got a few games still from when I was growing up.

- I've not done as much tidying up as I wanted. I was hoping to take advantage of the holiday period to do some spring (or I suppose winter) cleaning, but unforeseen events meant I couldn't get as much done

Slim, 500 Gigabytes. Figured it’d suit me the best since I can’t be bothered to maintain an original model, as well as the backwards compatible ones costing an entire arm and a snickers bar. I got the most storage available because I’m quite a big screenshotter :oops2:
 
Ahh makes sense, to be fair though, I'm not too fussed about storage size on PS3s as their hard drives are just standard 2.5" SATA drives. You can easily just get a 1TB HDD or even SSD and swap it in without much issue.

I'm not sure if the PS3 had built in capture capabilities, that wasn't really a thing until the PS4, unless there's some functionality I've missed?

I’m not too fond on console modding myself, so I might as well just have gotten the maximum size storage for only £5 extra (I probably sounded like an absolute moron saying that :facepalm:)

Screenshotting did exist on the PS3, though you need a button combination instead of just a handy little button on the side
 
I wouldn't necessarily class it as modding considering it's user serviceable (i.e. it's been designed to be removed and replaced, you're not actively changing the console or its hardware)

Didn't know about the screenshot function, kinda miffed cause that'd been pretty useful back in the day.

Sorry to hear this, this sounds really annoying. I like when devices can still just function when something is broken, minus what's actually broken of course. :lol:

Well, I was right about me sounding a bit stupid! I probably could do something like that if I ever feel as if I need more storage. Does it add to your already existing storage or does it replace the storage?

Yeah same, it’s a pain when something becomes a pricey paperweight just because of a single non-functioning part.

- Sleeping has been hard recently
- Been bored more often
- My youtube recommended is fucked and doesn't give me stuff I'd actually like to watch
- Not motivated to make any art/finish anything
- Also not motivated to actually make my story :boon:
