I mean...

Rayman 2 and 3 have stories that i can obsorb myself in..

Rayman 1 doesnt really have a story, but the environments are so diffrent and unique.

Rayman Origins mixes both of this, the story isnt very apparent but the aesthetic isnt very unique, but it mixes both in a satisfying way.

This game doesnt really have either, the art is nice but like... its just bland in my opinion. This is what i mean by i felt underwhelmed, it feels like L is mostly just its extra content. I dont think thats a good thing, extra content is nice but not when its 60% of the game.

Yeah... but also the scratch off tickets and invasion levels. I feel like we should work to get those, or get it as a reward for completing the game...

1. Its just my own opinion...

2. The 8-bit levels includsion feels... kinda worthless? Yeah, i can apparitate 8-bit music (im a composer for that stuff) but its just reused level design...

I still think this game is still great, but just not just as the other games.

This guy gets it. There's no fun in the art really, the soundtrack is awfully bland with I believe 2 stand-out tracks and it feels like there's actually no soul :confus:

Rayman Legends feels as though it is built on the remains of mainly the Origins concepts, extra content (as you mentioned) and random stuff in general

I mean, I would like it more if there was just an actually good soundtrack... and the backgrounds were more unique. It's mainly just the same color throughout all worlds. Gameplay too, but mainly sound and art. I mean, just look at these backgrounds and tell me they're not bland and uninspired.

I'm on a bit of a rant, so this will be my final sentence or two: Notice how all of the backgrounds look foggy and one single color? And doesn't have much going on in the foreground and main level part to compliment it? SO boring...

Were those screenshots taken on switch?

These are just random wallpapers I've collected, though wallpapers they're pretty much the same in-game... I think.

I barely play Legends unless im testing out a mod or something.. Maybe I should replay it along with Origins

Sorry to barge in like this, but i agree completely! I always felt like Origins looked way better than Legends, yet i always saw more praise for Legends artstyle. Like, i don’t mean to say it doesn’t look good, but it just doesn’t hit the same way Origins does.
And yeah, there are some features and stuff that seem kind of pointless, like the lucky tickets aforementioned before.
Also.. It’s pretty funny how i went from being obsessed with the game when i first played it, to being kind of indifferent to it and preferring other Rayman games. :fou2:

They look like the drained colours of the switch version to me

I never noticed that on switch actually. Weird.

I feel like Origins stands out and looks better because it's in contrast with the painted backgrounds. All of the enemies and characters stick out and it's beautifully done!

And... legends just kinda blends in... I mean, yes, it's good (as you mentioned), but it doesn't hold a candle up to Origins.

And and, I was also like that! I was like "holy shit this is like way better than origins, ha!" and then I played through it all and it was boring to say the least, and I honestly couldn't play through it for too long since.. it was too boring. Still beat it in like 4 or so days though

yet i always saw more praise for Legends artstyle.

Really? Anyone who I’ve seen play both Origins and Legends absolutely gives mountains of praise to the cel-shading of Origins, whilst legends gets the “it holds up” pat on the shoulder

Most people I've seen say Legends is the best at everything and ditch Origins like an unwanted child at a fire station

Well, maybe i did exaggerate that point a tad bit.. :oops2:

Wow, a website that doesn't redirect straight to the ubisoft store! :nostalgic:

Happy that there's an old website that actually still works!

Edit: The website actually explains the Legends lore, too. It says "Rayman and his friends were wandering in the woods and found a tent filled with paintings. Suddenly, they were sucked into the paintings..." I was always wondering what the hell the lore is in this stupid game :oops2:

I had always assumed that 100 years later, all the worlds just changed. Nope... it's just paintings!
