Currently have reached the Freezy Freezer in my recordings and did 100 % of the previous worlds!
I'm in pain.

Well, this game looks pretty unforgiving at times! And while we complain about the flying rings in Redemption, they seem to be much worse in this one. I don't think I could play it without going crazy, so it's great that you're recording this playthrough.
Personally, I think they feel more consistent to use in RDMRT than the Pink Rings in Redemption since the time frame for the highest jump is much more obvious and reliable to pull off (it's basically at the moment you see Rayman reaching the top height while swinging on the ring, while it's before that moment in Redemption).
It took me so getting used to, but now I can use those consistently while I'm never sure of what I'm doing with those in Redemption/ReDesigner...
At least I'm good at using the Gold Rings now.

If I recall in this game, Rayman is unable to hang on ledges right? That's probably the main cause of me dying when I played and it really bugged me because I would keep forgetting that wasn't an ability and just fall towards nothing and have Rayman's pieces fly everywhere.
And it is indeed one of my biggest gripes with this game and something that makes it feel even more like a downgrade compared to Rayman 1. I just can't count how many times I fell to my death or missed some secrets because of that!

And that's so weird when the game got some returning "obscure" features such as the grappling fist grabbing lives or even the infinite helicopter glide from games succeeding Rayman 1... and yet, you can't hang, you can't climb, you can't grimace, you need to charge your fist for an eternity before it's powered-up to take out some otherwise unbreakable obstacles, and the controls are just so unreliable at times especially when punching while jumping!

...And speaking of going crazy, to me, the absolute worst thing in this game is the backtracking! Trust me, after playing this, you will never complain about mandatory backtracking in Rayman 1 ever again! I insist, because it pales in comparison to the repetition in this game!
Basically, unless you
miraculously found every Cage and Collectible before unlocking the Green Clouds in the Fiery Fort (which is nearly impossible before buying the Cage and Item Locators considering the level design in some maps), you'll have to replay like 95% of the stages you've already played and in
their entirety! And even with a miracle, there are still like ten stages you must repeat due to the unlockable key and clouds!
You can't even skip the sections where you already found everything despite the fact that you have a skip button for bosses (unless you're in the first fight with the Dark Magician which "skips you" to the title screen

)!
And all of this tedious backtracking through already tedious levels asking for a lot of patience is only made worse by the lack of a world map/warp room... thus making you go through EVERY big hub world again to get to the earliest and furthest worlds!...

And as if the game didn't make you backtrack enough if you want to get to the final level (and have a good supply of lives since the game is stingy with them before you get the alien key + green clouds
thus making you Game Over and redo EVERYTHING since your last save!
), you're also
forced to play through the Maze of Memories before the second Dark Magician boss level...!
And what is the Maze of Memories you might ask...? Well, kids, it's an incredibly long level made of sections from each of the
T E N worlds you already went through, of course! And
NOTHING changes, except the background/mist effects, the music and the placement of Cages (better not miss one of those kiddos, or you're doing
this entire thing AGAIN
)!
SO, even assuming you were
absolutely perfect, found everything, didn't Game Over and only had to replay a few levels, it still means that there are some sublevels that are mandatory to play
T H R E E times! What kind of overly ridiculous padding is that!? Come on, there are already TWELVE worlds, was any of this necessary!?
See? It's so ridiculous that I had to write a review again!
And yes, I still find RDMRT good as a fangame (especially from the earlier days of Rayman unofficial content), and complaining is pointless as Ryemanni was just a teen when making this and returning to it to fix it (or even remake it) would be a waste of time for the most part because the game's skeleton is so fundamentally flawed that it can't really be salvaged... But hey, it always feels good to let off all of that rage.
Anyway, still a better "do every thing again a million times for 100%" game than Crash Bandicoot 4.
