Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day

I hear ya… Does that mean you have trouble expressing yourself to the therapist too even though they're charging quite a lot of money?

No, I have no trouble expressing myself to the therapist. But her mission is to help me express myself to other people, and that is a bigger change than I expected

++ Two games reffed this weekend. Difficult games, but satisfying

++++ Time to cash the checks :D

+ I have a deadline tomorrow, meaning I have to finish some boring task at work today, and I'm glad that I'll soon be done with it.
- Boring work is still boring. :P

Yeah, now they're saying 3~4 weeks, even more than the two I had mentioned before! :confus: I had been looking around a bit (hence having another interview) but I don't think it's looking too rosy these days… I'd probably be better off going back and continuing full-time education for a while (thankfully I don't currently have a family to feed :oops2:)
Yeah, it's the same for us right now, better hold on to our jobs. What subject would you like to study?

Haven't had a chance to bring him to the vet yet, but the lump doesn't seem to be changing rapidly. Hopefully I can fit in a trip to the vet next week…
Fingers crossed then, it's most likely benign!

It had been discussed years ago that I would try to do a PhD in Physics, although even now the prospect seems daunting. :confus: I must make some inquiries soon, because Murphy's Law dictates that these urges in me tend to peak in August~September, i.e. immediately before the start of the academic year and so too late to do anything! :oops2:

Sorry to hear you're in a similar situation, it seems to be everywhere right now. Even that interview that RayLums posted a while back, it started out with a discussion of "licenciements"! :confus:

The division I work in has made some very poor strategic decisions over the last 3~4 years, so it's hard to see us surviving this – but stranger things have happened :paranormal: Actually one of those poor decisions was made about a year ago, and I told myself I should resign at that point – but inertia / fear of the unknown has kept me languishing for another year!

Fingers crossed then, it's most likely benign!
Hopefully! I'll try to fit in a trip on Friday…

I guess it depends on the preinscription, but in most of the cases right before the summer holidays (July) it should be clear. Are you looking for a grant?

Best wishes to your Whiskas devourer!

------- I got sick I think yesterday, or the day before that…. Luckily today is Friday so I can be in peace and stay up for a while :mefiant:

+++ A friend wants to do a major project with me, in which I am SUPER excited about!

-- Said friend's friends don't like me, so I'm quite scared what would happen if we did said project :oops2:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++ I GOT TO SKIP SCHOOL 2 TIMES!!!! I basically have a 4-day weekend!

I hope your days are going better than mine, my sickness is really annoying :boon:

+ did the ParkRun again today.
- came 70th, 3 places after last time. Though expected, since there was about 30 more people today.
++++ but I got sub 30; 29:45!!! 1 minute and 12 seconds faster than last time.

That sounds great, any specific field in mind?

At least in France companies cannot really fire people for "economic reasons" if they're profitable...

I've been out of that world for so long that I've forgotten how these things are supposed to work :oops2: As I recall, applying for grants is the "done thing", but I think I'm lucky enough to be in a position that it's not essential… Let's see…
Best wishes to your Whiskas devourer!
Devourer is right! He's fine, we got the lump removed this morning! :teuf: It was most likely just over-granulation from a wound, but given the family history of cancer the vet recommended removing it to be on the safe side…

I wish I did… :confus: That tells you how nebulous the idea still is in my mind, which is why I had it in my head to email some people and figure out what would be opportune to work on… And yet I've procrastinated so much that it's March already… :mefiant:

Oh yeah, I remember our company closed a site in France last year, it took way longer than the other sites they were closing, presumably for that reason!

Great news! Now all you have to worry about is the work and PhD stuff. :oops2:

I hate how I know the font name just off the top of my head

Bangers used to be my go-to font for everything, then I realized that there were better fonts out there for me to write with :oops2:

Cool shirt by the way!

Thanks man, and good to know the font too! I’ll get him back for his birthday in September if I can find the editing software :oops2:

Bangers is pretty much everywhere, I'm surprised you didn't know what it was called yet

The editing software is probably easy to find, I can't imagine it being hard to find since googling “shirt print studio” or “custom t-shirt online” could probably find you some results :hap:

Yeah, thanks bro. The only fonts I know are comic sans (obviously) and the symbol fonts me and my friends use to spam teams in computing class

You mean Wingdings? When I was a kid, I'd get bored and start scrolling through the fonts on Notepad, and I always got scared seeing Wingdings because I thought it was some scary computer corruption or something of the sorts :oops2:

Yep, all of the Wingding fonts and the ones just called “symbol” that let you write in different alphabets/abjads
