- I feel kind of bad for you and Edge. Were they just 'putting up with it' when it came to talking to anyone on RPC? I'm not okay with the name drops and the site bashing myself. How hard would it be to just talk things out with an admin, or PM other users about misgivings? It's okay to not like things that someone might love, to have your own feelings and opinions. There's no reason to tear people down on another site. It's cruel. It feels like Edge didn't understand that you don't take anything seriously Goop. You're the funny guy who posts a ton, and sometimes you say some offbeat things, yes, but it's just how you communicate. It's almost expected of you at this point! :lol:

Being here for some time now, I've noticed that everyone here has their own mannerisms and things they do. If I don't like someone or something, I don't say anything. It's far less damaging to let it roll off the shoulders, ignore it, and continue on. It doesn't hurt anyone. :angel:

That being said, these quotes are going to make it very tough for Edge to return to the site in good graces. I don't think what you or Hunch said to Edge was meant to offend or drive them away. I just wish that they had talked it out, or simply didn't take things so harshly... :sad:
 
At some point one of you has to be the bigger person and let this feud go. There's definitely a willingness in both of you to have the final word. Edge is most likely not coming back, it's time you ignore him unless he doxxes or outlandishing slanders you.

++ Biggest game of the year yesterday. The crew was really anxious, but it ended up under control.

That’s what I was thinking as well. I’d feel sorry if he genuinely didn’t enjoy his time while he was on the forum, and if he didn’t feel like it was a safe space to connect with Rayman fans.

Thanks! We certainly didn’t have the same sense of humour, and it’s a bit hard for me to change mine without slipping up. I certainly don’t think before I speak, which can be both a benefit and a curse.

Feud? Before this, I’d only touched on him once, on how I really liked him but disagreed with some of his actions. I doubt he read those posts. I just posted here so people could know about this, as I said, not to humiliate him or direct hate towards him.

Also about greengoop; the reason he made me mad is because he said things were bad because he was bad at them. He was bad at R3 and said it was bad, the guy even said CLH was bad and HE DIDNT EVEN WATCH THE SHOW! Plus he unironically called himself a grammar n@z!so that’s also… a choice.

However, I think some things are kinda small, no? Grammar Nazi isn't like saying you're an ACTUAL Nazi, you're just obsessive over grammar :boon: Or maybe it's just me, and I'm desensitized?

And also, almost everything that comes out of your mouth is a joke. It's not something to be taken seriously about or to feel bad about :oops2: I think maybe if he actually knew you were joking he wouldn't have left :|

Anyway, I honestly just hope he's okay and maybe whenever everything cools down he could come back or something. :(

- That's sad to hear. Edge had some of the most unusual interests and character traits on this forum, and yet everyone respected those without any sort of judgment, ensuring that he'd feel welcome and appreciated as a valuable member of the community despite his difference.

I assume the joke he's referring to is this one, where I gently poked fun at how fast and carelessly he'd typed his message without even proofreading it. How can you get offended by this, but discard that writing with care is itself a sign of respect for the person you're talking to? I understand that some conditions and disorders can make people much more sensitive, and that's why we've always been benevolent and gentle with Edge, but you cannot reasonably expect people to let everything slide on account of a condition. I know a certain autistic member of this forum who is now an esteemed member of the community, and while we were always a little more lenient and understanding back when things went south, we still had to draw a line that I like to think has helped them grow into the person they are today.

Now as for the "known bigot" from 2020, I'm just as clueless as you all. We obviously don't run background checks on every new member, but any hateful comments would obviously be deleted and see action taken against their authors. I'm pretty sure that if such behavior was tolerated here, most of you guys wouldn't be here to read my message.

And finally, I know that Goop can sometimes be a bit abrasive, and I agree that he should refrain himself from joining discussions about certain topics just to say how much he dislikes them (something the mods mentioned to him), but it's obvious he never acted with malice, and if anything, his endless discussions with Edge show that things went very well most of the time. I'm not even gonna get started on the ironic term "grammar nazi", that would be stating the obvious.

In the end, I'm sorry to hear that Edge feels that way, and I hope he'll get better and understand that, while he'll always be welcome and respected here, we can only cater to hypersensitivity to a certain degree, because else, what will be left to discuss on this poor forum?

Also i apologize for just.. posting that publicly Goop. I had orignally sent you a PM setting boundaries but deleted beliving it would lead to a huge augment, which lead to this entire thing. I came back after seeing your message on my site, and i realized i was also in the fault and I really needed to also apologize to you. This entire thing was lead by lack of communiaction, and i made the entire fourm look like a giant bag of shit which is untrue. I was on my anxiety meds when i made those comments, and i wasnt reallt thinking... though that still isnt an excuse.

I know ive said this 30 times but im sorry Goop. I shouldve talked to you and made an effort to commuicate our issues.

Im also sorry to Hunch, i also made you look like an asshole... i know you didnt mean to hurt, but i shouldve also told you i wasnt comfortable with those types of jokes.

No problem Edge, we all have bad days but not everyone owns up to their mistakes like you just did and that alone makes you better than most.

I'm sorry the joke made you uncomfortable. We're kind of a big family whose members like to tease each other every now and then, but now I know it's a sensitive subject you can count on me to avoid it with you. In fact, always let us know if something makes you uneasy: while we can't ban subjects entirely from the forum, the least we can do is leave you out of them! And for any other questions or concerns, my PMs are always open.

As for the mysterious bigot, this sounds like people spreading rumors without verifying them. I wish they'd just come to me instead, that would certainly sort things out instantly. I don't know where such rumors originate from, and whether they're just the result of honest mistakes or people actively trying to spread misinformation, but I guess this is bound to happen given the size of the community. That's why the best advice I can give is for people to never trust what they read and go check for themselves!

The person i got the info from said they watched it happen and that you sent an email asking them to come back? I have SS's from the convo but im not gonna post them. IDK who to fucking believe anymore.

IDK? They never dropped any hints and were vauge as fuck. It was in my own discord and it made me spyral so i told them to stop talking about it... so i also want to stop talking about it. Besides, they said it was in 2020 and ackownlaged that this place has changed. It was 100% my fault for thinking i was a bad person for being on here.

If that's about Сым, then the dude came from Discord (specifically, the defunct r/Rayman x Rayman Together server) and was a total stranger here. At first he made a few edgy jokes, but nothing hateful or against the rules. The mods noticed it and agreed to keep a close eye on him. As soon as he started showing his true colors and posted actual hateful remarks, they were immediately deleted and a ban was issued. I honestly don't know how we could have handled the situation better.

In the end, if you're a big community, it will inevitably attract bad eggs every now and then, and because you know nothing about your newcomers, you'll only find out when they decide to act up. I don't think it's fair to judge communities on who decides to join them, but rather, they should be judged on how quickly and fairly they react when people start breaking the rules. We're moderators, not fortune tellers.

Anyway, don't worry about this Edge. If I'm writing this, it's just that I hope your friend reads this, understands the situation and stops spreading misinformation and unfair judgment that disrespects our staff's hard work in ensuring this place remains as pleasant, safe and welcoming as can be. I don't know who they are, but if I sent them an email at some point, it must have been to hear their point of view, understand it and explain the situation to them. Quite obviously, I was ignored, and there's not much I can do when people choose to refuse dialogue and spread misinformation instead. :|
