Jokes aside... Any interesting ideas for the next one?

I personally have to say I don't really care for stuff like this. A minority of people boycotting something isn't going to stop anything and I feel a person just "punishes" themselves by refusing to use something that could make their lives easier. It doesn't mean I support their decisions though.

I remember one time this happened when the accusations with Ubisoft were flying around. I mentioned buying a game and I was responded to as if I had 10 heads. I was accused of supporting their bad behaviour. I want to buy a game because I like the game, not because I want to "support" bad actions. Funny how easily this can be confused.

EDIT: I feel it's not "supporting" anything if you're not even paying attention to it or aren't interested in the drama in the first place. It would be like hypothetically something bad happened at Coca-Cola and you're having your lunch. You open a can of coke and people are like "Oh my God! Look at this guy! How could you, drinking that stuff when bla bla bla...". You'd be thinking yeah ok like I'm just having a drink with my lunch I don't really care about that stuff lol.

My thoughts exactly! I feel this way when it comes to climate change as well, as me using a paper straw or biking a long distance isn’t gonna change the thousands of factories in Asia pumping out millions of tons of CO2 a day.

The only time I wouldn’t buy a product I’m interested in if a company is known for their unethical practices would be if the product was at an utterly ridiculous price, like the games for the switch 2.

Games in general are ridiculously priced at this stage. When the PS2 launched in the early 2000s, games were very expensive back then too, 65 euro for some of the newer ones if I recall correctly, but it went down again over time. I was surprised when I considered to buy a 3 year old game for my PS5 that only gathers dust, only to realise it was 80 euro and be like nah that's ok. As much as I would love the game, I am not paying 80 for a game that's 3 years old, I wouldn't even pay that much for a game that's new. That's absurd pricing for games.

Historically boycotting HAS WORKED but i dont feel like getting into an aurgment in the Rayman fourms about it!

So whats the next poll about?

Yeah, that’s a bit extortionate. You’d hate me if you knew how much I paid for a sealed copy of FF7 Remake Intergrade tho

Something that just popped in my mind after mulling over my visit to CEX yesterday, what would you consider the threshold when a game or console becomes "retro?"
As it stands right now I think we'd agree that the PS3 and Xbox 360 have crossed that abstract threshold, but would the PS4 and Xbox One be counted as retro? Bear in mind it's now been about 12 years since those consoles came out.

Don't know how pollable that is, but as a potential idea, thought I'd just throw it out.

Funny, I got into an argument about this online with this one bloke a few years ago. He kept saying the 3DS was retro because the PS2 was still getting games in its lifetime. I said this logic was stupid as the PS VITA was released when the PS2 was getting games, and it was still getting games when the switch was released, and the switch couldn’t be considered retro, just he wasn’t gonna buy that so he just disappeared.

As for the bar, I’d say the 6th generation is the latest “retro” generation, but that’ll change in the future.

Retro is given to something when its 20 years old. Its antique when its over 100.

I heard that it was 25 years for retro, but I think the phrase kinda just means “old”, no official cutoff point, just blends into retro. Antique does mean 100 though, you’re right about that
