Nope, while it may not be the best soundtrack by a mile (and is among my least favourite), it does have many solid tunes, and most importantly quite a lot of musical variety unlike a certain game that Forces me to dislike it! :hehe:
Try out Sea Bottom Segue, Honeycomb Highway (yes, the meme music :noel: ), Desert Ruins Zone 1, Frozen Factory Zone 1, the Deadly Six, Boss Rush, Battle With Zavok or even the DLC Zelda themes if you haven't already! :mryellow:

I'll say Lost World is a good game on its own, but it's very mediocre as a Sonic experience specifically (when you need to have a dedicated run button, you already know you f*EFF*ed it up! :noelnoir: ), the gameplay is just too awkward and it can be pretty boring...
There's also the fact that this was the worst example of SEGA trying too hard to emulate Mario's success by imitating the style and formulas of his games (which Colours was pretty subtle about, at the very least), and just so much of Lost World has the smell of a Mario game...
But still, a bit fun and creative at times and it was kind of a breath of fresh air in a way... It's just that it made exactly 0 sense to do this after Unleashed, Colours and especially Generations' amazing success, and there were many issues like its bland villains with exactly one stereotypical trait defining them: the Teletubbies-... oops, I meant Bowser and the Koopalings-... sorry, I mean the "Zetis"/"Please Do Not Sue Us, Nintendo!", a.k.a the dEaDly SiX! :hap: (Seriously, some of their battles are straight up rip-offs of a few specific Koopalings and Giant Bowser fights in the New Super Mario Bros. games and I'm not even exaggerating! :boon: )

...And wow, I'm starting to turn this place into a "review Sonic games" topic! :oops2:

In fact, here's a particularly majestic theme from Bootleg Super Mario Galax-... huh, I meant Sonic Lost (His) World! :fou:

Sonic Lost World - Dragon Dance
I am totally down with that tbh!

I've only watched playthroughs of this game and it was immediately obvious how hard they were trying to emulate Super Mario Galaxy. Plus this game followed the success of multiple Sonic games like you said (Generations definitely), so there was a pretty slim chance of it being nearly as good. Btw Sea Bottom Segue is definitely one of my favorite tracks from this bootleg, hehe so this is good taste (I'll share this track later but I want to share this one first). :D

Like Jonster, I've only seen videos of the game, and yeah they were definitely trying to rip off Bowser and the Koopalings. I find it somewhat amusing that in spite of Lost World's commercial failure, SEGA still brings back the Deadly Six - or at least Zazz and/or Zavok - once in a while. But hey, at least they had some legitimately good themes! :hap:

Neither of you missed out on anything! (As someone who played both the Wii U and 3DS version, I want a refund for my wasted hours... and for my money too, SEGA, please :noelnoir: )

And yeah, their desperate attempts at trying to make people get attached to Zavok (and now Zazz) were certainly amusing to watch when pretty much NO ONE even asked to see these bootleg Mario villains return! And at this point, I'm surprised on the other hand that they never brought back Infinite/DIS-GUY-IS-F4STUR-THAN-SONIK#44™ outside of mobile considering how confident they were in this angsty teen with wasted potential, and unlike the counterfeit Koopalings, this edgy counterfeiter does have some fans weirdly enough! :P
(Also did I mention that he's too weak? Or that he's such an utter weakling that he needs to rely on a super gem like the Phantom Ruby to fight even base Sonic or a random DeviantArt OC, and would be nothing without his precious magical rock of "illusions" that only makes him strong in his imagination? Just trying to make sure everyone is aware he's as weak as his writing... Oh, and, just one more thing!... He is weak. :hap: )

But enough talk about trash... Let's listen to it instead! :noel:

To be honest, I never especially liked the Deadly Six, but I never particularly disliked them either. Other than Zazz and Zavok (who are only still in my head because of SEGA always wanting to keep them around), the rest of the wannabe Koopalings Zetis were kind of forgettable, and all of them have just faded into the background at this point.

Shifting gears entirely, let's talk about a Mario character I think is pretty underrated: Boom Boom. I really like that mad lad, despite the bad rap he sometimes gets thanks to him always taking three hits to beat. He may not be the biggest, or the brightest, or the toughest to take out, but as one of my favorite Mario characters (maybe not top 10, but at least top 15 for me), I've grown a soft spot for Boom Boom (and still really hope that he - and a Talking Flower - gets into whatever Mario Kart World updates or DLC that Nintendo probably has up their sleeve). :hap:

So to celebrate this big-fisted baddie, here's one of his boss themes from the "New" Super Mario Bros. games!

Boom Boom takes 3 hits, but then so do the Koopalings, no?? I don't think Boom Boom should feel too bad. Now I'll have the Koopalings on my mind the rest of the day, so thanks for that :D

Oh wait, talking flower???? You've played Super Mario Bros. Wonder eh???? I still haven't played past the second world so yeah pretty sure all my friends are done with the game by now :D
