How's the weather?

Is there some heatwave in Europe right now! Seems like every place is freaking hot there and yet over here I seem to be facing multiple rainy days with some sun in between!

Yes, there is a serious heatwave in Europe right now. Meteorological agencies across the continent have been issuing warnings about it.

Luckily it didn't last too long in Ireland – it was four days, short of the five needed to be called a "heatwave". Now we've got good old wind and rain – but it's still quite warm :ouin:

Yeah that weekend was a killer to be honest. I was at a christening party in a pub full of people while it was 30 degrees out. I was absolutely melting all day.

That said, it's actually getting fairly cold tonight for a change. It's been windy and raining on and off since the other night. My room was 21 degrees last night instead of 28, which was quite refreshing. I'm not sure if it's the same where you are though, Dublin definitely got colder.

I mean, it's cold-er for sure, but still was a bit on the warm side when I posted that. Getting better though!

We are actually down to 12 degrees outside. Definitely far cooler now than the past few days.

It's horribly hot here! At typing this, it's 81 degrees (farenheit) :ouin:

81 isn't that hot, but with the humidity... that's another story. :| ...Also, is it just me or does it get exponentially hotter at night?

It’s definitely much colder today. It’s gonna set a nice atmosphere for the chair lift I’m about to do though!

It's always the humidity that's a killer for me more than the actual temperature.

Had an absolute deluge earlier. Thank God our town installed flood-relief pipes on the local stream years ago, otherwise I probably wouldn't be in a position to type this message!

Actually there's a photo somewhere of 5yo me standing inside a section of those pipes just before it was installed :hap:

Yesterday (or in August 1, 2025), in my place (Sukabumi, Indonesia), the weather was cloudy, and yet it was rainy though. but during in evening/night, it has minor rain. There was no major rain, but has thunderstorm partially.

Woke up to rain this afternoon. Thought I was hallucinating! It's been so darn hot & dry lately...At least I don't have to water the lawn today? (Speaking of watering the lawn, we got a splitter, so now I can water TWO SECTIONS at THE SAME TIME!)

The temperature here has been really nice for a few weeks now and it's not as hot as before!
Even this morning it's getting particularly cold and maybe I should have brought something to cover my arms

So it turns out that after this, someone went around with a digger and removed all the shrubs and greenery from the local stream channels. This is not even "closing the stable door after the horse has bolted" – it's more like "closing the back door to the stable after the horse bolted through the front door", because I can't see how removing all that greenery would have made any significant difference to the degree of flooding. Now the streams look dead…

This week promises to be a scorcher. Thankfully I'm back in office with air conditionning.

Finally got some rain round here. It's nice and cloudy right now, with some more rain expected today.

Gives me a small break from my watering chore/job/duty! Which is nice. Unfortunately, my hammock is out of commission at the moment, as the hackberry trees are making everything beneath them sappy...Ah well, I can just relax in my room, I guess.

Yeah the rain after all the dry sun has been a nice reprieve here too. Alas, the grass looks really dead and in some places trees have been shedding leaves. I do hope the rain hasn't come too late.
