I am listening to Hallelujah, the John Cale cover. I honestly cannot figure out if this is a legitimate song about religion beacause it has one verse about uh… dirty stuff.

Then again it does refence biblical stories

“You saw her bathing on the roof” is a reference to David, and David is mentioned by name for writing songs after he sinned (killing his friend so he could fuck his wife.. yeah don’t ask)

“She broke your throne She cut your hair” is a reference to Samson. He was given super abilities by god as long as he didn’t cut his hair, however he was taken advantage of by a women who cut his hair for money. Samson was then caught by the guards of the city he was in, blinded and put between 2 pillars in a building. With the power of god he knocked them over, killing everyone inside.

Oh shit now I sound like those preaching instagram accounts :boon:

Man, y’all must’ve been waiting ages for someone to bring it up again. :lol: Thanks for sharing, some other facts are that it took 17 Years for Deftones to get bought up again and 18 Years for Alien Ant Farm to return. :hap:
