Now that I'm drunk (and those who follow what's what know with why) maybe it's time for me to good to Jade.

I am a bit curious about PSP emulation, but I still have a PSP so it's not necessarily something I feel a major need to do
 
I wonder if you can even get anything decent. I think you can only get third party ones.
 
That's a given, I don't think Sony have made replacement batteries for at least a decade at this point. The third party ones are alright though, I've got one in mine.

My PSP is nearly unusable to the battery having swollen to thrice its intended size.

Yes but it's also getting more and more complicated to record while you play. And I need to record Mgegaman Powered up and Maverick Hunter X for my YT channel at some point. Ergo, emulation
 
Ahh that's fair. I remember back when I tried to record off mine using a screen mirror, but it was very laggy.
