Video Games Knowledge Quiz - Season 9 - Pirez

Man I did not think I'd win that bonus question. Congrats Master for winning the quiz!
You scored 3/15. That's why I insisted on everyone participating! You didn't have to score 15/15, you just had to beat the rest :mryellow:

Oh well at least I won  :hehe:
But no I was almost instantly disappointed because I 100% knew that Tetris was a game made in the USSR, but then I started thinking about Pong and I started doubting myself. I knew I fumbled the bonus question.

I thought you had entered, you answered some didn't you? Or is this the bonus question you're referring to?

You had 7 right and 8 wrong (7-0.5·4=3). So it wasn't really that bad!

Damn it I knew most of the answers… I should’ve entered!

I forgot to post! I probably could have scored 3/15 as well. Outsmarted myself.
I’d saved the bonus for later, but record day made the quiz go way too fast.

You can't say I didn't warn you! :hinhinhin:

Ok so I said I'd begin around this time, so I'm just going to rack my brain and I shall hopefully drop a new question tonight.

Not if I win first. And no swearing, that's bad manners :P

Alright I think I've kept folks in suspense long enough...
Welcome to Season 6 of the Video Games Knowledge Quiz!

Greetings all,
Welcome to a new edition of the Video Games Knowledge Quiz! This is the first time I've hosted a quiz in well over half a decade, so I apologise if I'm a little rusty. I imagine most folks know the rules of the game, but if not, be sure to check the original post! (I know I certainly will be, hosting is its own game after all...)

So without further ado, let's begin.

QUESTION 1 - For many skills in RuneScape, getting to level 92 is considered a particularly notable milestone. Why is that?

While it's true spaghetti code is a common joke when it comes to RuneScape's backend, this isn't anything relating to jank.

It requires tons of grinding of the same thing?
Nope, you'll find many new skilling methods as you level up, granting higher XP/hr.

Do you have to get every item to level 99?
Afraid not, focus about levelling skills, not items.

To reiterate, think about what could special about reaching Level 92 in one of most of the skills in RuneScape. What would be special about that?

Oh, I know :

Because it requires the same amount of XP to go from lvl 1 to 92 than it does to go from 92 to 99. 92 is therefore considered the median level.

It must be easy then to level up from level 1 to level 92!

....I say that, but there's probably 6 million exp or something to go through before reaching it

Pirez's has got it! Yep, those who play RPGs may be familiar with the concept of an XP Curve, effectively it's the relationship between the amount of XP, and the level you are. Many games have a curve - i.e. you need to get even more XP to hit the next level than it did to get to your current level in relation to your previous.

In RuneScape, the amount of XP to get to level 92 from level 1 is approximately half of the total amount of XP to get to level 99 (from level 1): https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Experience#"92_is_half_of_99"_rule

You're not too far off actually, IIRC it's about 6.5 million!

Pirez - 1 point

QUESTION 2 - The Nintendo 64 is well known for being Nintendo's first 64-bit console...but what was Nintendo's second 64-bit console?
