Well, here's a sample of the desert theme.
I actually resorted to using music from the Newgrounds Audio Portal (with the authors' permissions) to avoid ripped music. .__. XD

Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
Ryan has sent me some of the musics from his game, and man, they are so awesome! Ryan picked the best ones for his game! Seriously.
Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
If everyone would like, I can actually upload the zipped folder containing all ogg vorbis files.
Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
Are ogg verbis files music? If so, go ahead!
Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
Okay.. the music folder is about 7 Mb, and I can compress it further with other formats other than zip. So, what in your guys' opinions should I do?
And here's a sample background image I put together. It's actually a moving parallax scrolling background in the game.

Just thought I'd show it off to you.

A desert with mountains... That's what I call imagination ^^ I wonder what enemies will look like in this level
Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
Well, this is actually for the 2nd level, and you're tracking Henchmen 1000 (or I just call him the Henchmen General, whatever.. XD) though the desert. The enemies are of course, pirates, but I've also got a few native creatures that will come from the ground and attack, and then there's other things like cacti or other spiky desert plants you have look out for.

Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
Question about the multiplayer: is there going to be a Co-Op mode?
Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
Great work Phoenixan ! It is the best fan-made game I have even seen. I'm looking forward to see full version
Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
Thanks.
It's also I believe, the first fan game that has a chance of being released.
Yes, I was going to try a 2 vs. 2 mode and a deathmatch. That is, if the PC can handle that many players one keyboard all at once. If not, I was considering doing a sort of player switch, like how Mario did when you selected 2 player mode. I don't exactly know how to do online stuff... nor do I have my own server available for it. XDchrisgreathouse010 wrote:Question about the multiplayer: is there going to be a Co-Op mode?

I've been thinking about gamepad support, but I can't quite figure out how to get the characters' movement right on GamePads.

Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
Maybe with only the use of the directional button part of it instead of the joy stick... as for the buttons, what ever is needed such as jump, fire, and et Cetera.
Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
Actually, my problem is that GameMaker has no function for a gamepad button release, which is very important for Phoenixan's weapon functions.

Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
So you will have to make your own DLL that allows this, right? Or can you find one that is already made for doing so?
Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
I can't make my own DLL's actually, because I don't have a C++ or Delphi compiler, and those cost... a lot of money.

Maybe you can ask someone to help you.
Or just find a dll...

I don't know if it's exactly worth it though.

Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - CD Cover
Well, in my opinion... The Keyboard is good enough. Maybe if you made a 3D Phoenixan game, yeah, it would be worth it.
