Yeah, trying to play Rayman in French isn't something I'll have any success with.

Yeah, I'd get confused too but then I'd rely on context clues if that helps?

If it was Rayman 2 I'd be fine as I've played it enough times anyway, and it's only subtitles (unless you play Revolution). If anything, I'd just see what the levels were originally called.

I wouldn't mind playing these in different languages. I'd probably have some success in Spanish, at any rate.

Honestly, playing a game you know inside out in a new language is a great way to learn! :D Rayman 2/3 really improved my French, and BG&E gave me a kickstart in Italian!

Given that I have been watching a certain Filipino soap opera lately, that makes sense! :D

I'll give Spanish a go first for a refresher. Really want to give French a try afterwards so I can understand the language better.

Like I said earlier, I don't think Leguizamo was a good fit for Globox:
Hunchman801 wrote: Tue Jan 09, 2024 7:52 pm I also strongly prefer Globox's goofy voice in the French dubbing (provided by Jean-Jacques Nervest). Leguizamo's good, but the high-pitched voice he went for just doesn't fit the character so well to me. It's also way more different from his mumbling in Rayman 2.

I like Rayman 3 version of Rayman. He's the most mature there despite acting a bit childish at times. He seems more responsible and he values his friends no matter what. Such traits make him a really goodvhero ngl

Oh my god i also really love that version too, def my favorite one of them all. :hap:

Some people tend to see that version as mean spirited for some reason, but i always see Ray3 Rayman as a sweetheart while also being extremely energetic (probably because of David Gasman's voice acting too, haha). It's a bit sad that he barely has any voice lines in the game tho :(

Maybe he's only talkative around his friends and is kinda shy when it comes to strangers, who knows :3

It's true, but I don't really mind that Rayman's personality was never developed too much. It keeps an air of mystery around him.

Additionally, Rayman not speaking too much makes it easier for the player to put himself or herself in the hero's shoes.

Ubisoft probably expected us to make fanworks then if this is the case XD

I mean, the official forum back in 2003 even had a fanworks section! :D (As can be seen on the list of archived topics here: https://archive.raymanpc.com/ – the quality of said fanworks wasn't generally that great XD)

Looks like this timeline was the predecessor of the one Ubisoft published in 2015 for Rayman's 20th anniversary. :hap:

Rayman goes from an energetic, humorous lil gremlin to a complete badass and it shows.

Hehe yeah... time sure flies... and as Rayman has become 17 in 2012, I will a day after tomorrow (kinda scary ngl)
I wonder if Rayman had some sort of age crisis one of his days of his pretty life...

Now that he's 30, there's NO DOUBT he's having a midlife crisis lol
