Wait, it is?!? So you're saying the official Rayman 30th Anniversary account was wrong about something? Le gasp!

"Never-before-seen", eh? Except for every Rayman fan on Earth, it seems.

Well we are kind of a niche fandom compared to like the Pokemon fandom or Zelda fandom.Hunchman801 wrote: Fri Dec 05, 2025 10:18 am "Never-before-seen", eh? Except for every Rayman fan on Earth, it seems.![]()

That's because Pokemon and Zelda series are still getting new games and Rayman is well... In a void for quite some time

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
Indeed, the CMs are not the ones working on the future of the series. I can vouch for the fact that most of the latter genuinely care about consistency and are well aware of the many issues with Rayman Origins and the UbiArt era in general. However, with all the conflicting elements that have been introduced so far, it means they're gonna have to make choices, and it remains to be seen whether people will like them. Wait and see, eh?Mortamon Saturn wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 7:00 pmI'm genuinely scared to see what they're gonna do in the next games, if it ends up even more inconsistent than in the past decade...PluMGMK wrote: Mon Nov 17, 2025 11:50 pm Aaaaaah, make it stop, make it stop!![]()
I guess this at least gives us a preview of the level of consistency we can expect from the new project, just in case we thought they might have learned their lessons from Origins
I'm hoping it's just the marketing/CMs guys they hired who aren't well versed into the Rayman universe, because it would be very sad for the series' future if that's also the case for the devs...![]()
Amen to that.Mortamon Saturn wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 7:00 pm Meanwhile in the UbiArt games, the cohesiveness immediately falls apart the moment you see the Magician as a Teensy, Betilla's redesign making precisely 0 sense compared to the original, Globox being originally red when nearly all his children are blue from his genetics, or Yellow Lums being picked as the infinite collectible instead of something like Tings/Jewels without any mention of the Heart of the World at all ; or the gameplay ditching Rayman's trademark long-range fist attacks for melee, just to name very few examples.![]()
And the National Video Game Award for Best Narration goes to... well, I don't know, but we can thank you whoever took over the project in the final phase of the game's development for scrapping that ridiculous idea. It's a shame, however, that he was not given enough time to finish the job properly...PluMGMK wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 10:34 pm Except he was actually an impostor, but for some reason the characters only realize that when his hat falls off. It's actually not that ridiculous once you put all the pieces together (which I myself did right here); it's just a shame that the game itself doesn't make the Dark Teensy's agenda more easy to understand for most players.Hunchman801 wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 1:38 pm And the National Video Game Award for Best Narration goes to... well, I don't know, but we can thank you whoever took over the project in the final phase of the game's development for scrapping that ridiculous idea.
Anyway, Ubisoft posted more Rayman 2 concept art, and some of it appears to be new.
The concept art on the top left is an earlier version of Ly's artwork on the Rayman (2) Revolution box art. The swirl around her looks different from the one that's already on the RayWiki. Also there's a new model sheet for the fairy.
There's a new model sheet of Globox here, and the bottom art features a recolored Catastrox. Not sure if he was supposed to be a different Baby Globox entirely or not, but it's something.
One last thing: when the art parodies from earlier were added to the RayWiki, it came to my attention that The Kiss by Gustav Klimt was parodied in the fifth image. You know, the one with Rayman and Ly...
Jus some food for thought!
Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
These social media posts have been disappointing as expected, with not a lot of new stuff so far. This time, only the recolored Catastrox and the earlier version of the Ly with the swirl artwork are "new".
Interestingly, for the latter, it seems one slight correction was applied to her design. Compared to the final version, her ears and nose are drawn in a much more catlike way. It matches with the other Ly artwork shown in today's post, so this slightly different design is nothing new - but seeing how this one artwork was actually altered for the later version, it really shows a conscious decision to tone down the feline features that she had in early marketing materials (and still kind of does in the final game as she tends to run on all fours).

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
I remember your post, and indeed, some things do make sense, but I'm just not buying the part where everyone and their dog immediately saw a Teensie during the score recap and were utterly confused by it, but somehow Rayman and his crew would have been dumb enough not to realize it? I think we have reached the rock bottom of storytelling here...RayGamer99 wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 6:27 pm It's actually not that ridiculous once you put all the pieces together (which I myself did right here); it's just a shame that the game itself doesn't make the Dark Teensy's agenda more easy to understand for most players.![]()

Isn't it the same Catastrox as here, only in better quality?Droolie wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 7:53 pm These social media posts have been disappointing as expected, with not a lot of new stuff so far. Nice catch, I didn't notice that at all!Droolie wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 7:53 pm Interestingly, for the latter, it seems one slight correction was applied to her design. The Catastrox has also been seen in this reference sheet:

That's cute with the Baby Globoxes playing in the wreck of the Grolgoth, pity they couldn't find a way to work it into the final story!

It makes me think that the Grolgoth was a enemy type and they had different plans for the final boss fight, But they didn't have time and just used him as the boss

I think the Grolgoth is bigger in the final game, isn't it?
Anyway, I'll take it as proof that baby Globoxes are evil and it was actually them inside that robot, not Razorbeard.

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
Maybe it's a Robotnik (me
) kind of scenario in which the Pirates (we
) used the little animals to power the robot!
But I prefer to think of it as the kids playing with the villain's remains after Rayman's victory, like the Electoons in Rayman GBC's ending!

They probably would have accidentally found a way to reboot it and they're like, "...oops..." lmaoPluMGMK wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 11:01 pm That's cute with the Baby Globoxes playing in the wreck of the Grolgoth, pity they couldn't find a way to work it into the final story!![]()

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
The Grolgoth launching into the mother of all vengeful monologues would be an interesting sight to behold.
That being said, one of the more fanwanky ideas I had as a kid was the idea of the wreckage of the Grolgoth being found and rebuilt, and you ended up having a battle against a vengeful Razorbeard in a newer Grolgoth. Effectively a 1v1 Mech battle in a Rayman game. (I wonder if I was aware of MGS4 at the time, it's very akin to the Rex vs Ray battle)
Sounds entirely counter to what'd fit right in a Rayman game, but hey, giant robots are cool.

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
My best guess as to what’s happening is that the little guys were just playing hide-and-seek and thought the Grolgoth’s remains would make for a good hiding spot. Though Rayman looks oddly wary while he’s getting them out…

Well at least that wouldn’t be the last time something like that happened!Master wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 6:58 pm Effectively a 1v1 Mech battle in a Rayman game. (I wonder if I was aware of MGS4 at the time, it's very akin to the Rex vs Ray battle)

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
Oh yeah, the final boss of the DS version of RRR. I actually have played and beaten that (though it's been a fair amount of time since I last played it). It was...not quite the spectacle I'd imagine a 1v1 mech battle would be, I'd also class the combatants more as hovercraft or aircraft than robots personally.
