Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
I have reappeared from the shadows just to say that, while incredibly surprised by Ubisoft's appearance in the Rayman Alive stream, this anniversary has just been disappointing, from sharing """never seen before""" concept art that are totally not the first pictures you see on the Raywiki articles about the games to ""Interviews"" that last 30 seconds at best and don't actually interview the developers/composers (We could've had some cool insights but instead we get the blandest and most boring questions I've heard). :/

Welcome back Eren! Yeah, some of the blunders have been disappointing, but at least it feels like they're genuinely trying to do their best, given the limited resources they have.

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
Im honestly just happy that they acknowledged the anniversary in the first place, considering its Ubisoft

Well, it seems they dug up more new Rayman 2 concept art: https://x.com/RaymanGame/status/2003873303522426947
3 of these are completely new to me. It's cool that we finally get to see them after all these years! (maybe it's a bit suspicious that most new things shown so far are from R2...

Nice to see more previously unpublished content! I wouldn't take it as any sort of hint, but I'm glad it's from the original trilogy.

Looks like Ubisoft just faced a cyberattack and that a lot of data was exfiltrated.

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
Apologies, with hacks occurring every year or so, I copy-pasted the wrong link when searching for it again after closing my window.
I have updated my post to include the correct one. More specifically, this is what I was referring to.

Key Actions/Claims: MongoBleed pivot from MongoDB to Git repo; exfiltrated 90s–present source code, SDKs, multiplayer code (~900GB).
Confidence/Status: Medium-high (multi-source verified).

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
I wonder if they'll leak some of the stuff from the upcoming Rayman project(s)
Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
I hope not.
Apparently, the same people are now saying that the claim about data being exfiltrated was either a lie or an exaggeration: https://x.com/vxunderground/status/2005283906514203123
Anyway, on a nicer note, we got more new Rayman 2 concept art today: https://x.com/RaymanGame/status/2005322855374815740

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
Interesting to see those earlier versions of the Robo-Pirates! They looked a bit more human and less robotic than in the final game.

Maybe they were planned to be human cyborgs in an earlier development cycle?Hunchman801 wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 10:07 am Interesting to see those earlier versions of the Robo-Pirates! They looked a bit more human and less robotic than in the final game.

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
I'm loving these Rayman 2 concept art images. The one with Robo-Pirates sleeping, looks like they got drunk after a party
.
I think it's cool that the Robo-Pirates used to have swords. This reminded me of that weird rayman 2 image with that strange looking Robo-Pirate. I wonder if one of these earlier designs was made into a 3D model at some point.

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
I guess there's a fairly smooth evolution traceable from the enemies present in the 2D prototype, to the "muscular" robo-pirates visible in these (beautiful!) concept arts, to the square ones we got in the final game. Interesting!
That said, I often think about how the Pirates basically represent the worst aspects of humanity…
I wonder if the first one in Droolie's message (download/file.php?id=14117&mode=view) represents an earlier version of the Prison Ship, or some city in the Glade that became infested with Pirates…
Probably not, given that the enemies in the 2D prototype don't appear to be cyborgs either.RaypersonNikol wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 7:32 pm Maybe they were planned to be human cyborgs in an earlier development cycle?

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
Looking at it and mostly noticing the dragon statues with mask-like faces (that could have been a perfect element to spit out fire or lava) and how it seems to be inside a crevasse, I'm thinking it could have been an early version of the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire or Rock and Lava in that case!Hunchman801 wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 12:33 pmOr maybe another temple of some sort?PluMGMK wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 7:23 pm I wonder if the first one in Droolie's message (download/file.php?id=14117&mode=view) represents an earlier version of the Prison Ship, or some city in the Glade that became infested with Pirates…![]()

The lava would be channeled onto the bridge below, though...

Re: Ubisoft's appearance for Rayman's 30th anniversary
We've got another 30th anniversary post! This one is a series of Rayman 1 concept sketches that were meant to convey how Rayman was meant to move. Interestingly, it seems that this old concept art was part of the animation all along!
(This one's in gif form, so click it to start it up)
