No. It's classic rock. It's toward the metal side of classic rock, but I'd say it's the best rock band of its time.

Led Zeppelin is no way a metal band
I don't really like classic rock though, more like heavy/power/speed/thrash metal for me. And hard rock too.

No way! Stairway to Heaven was rated one of the top rock songs of all time. It was even rated the best guitar solo, and the album it was on was rated top album. These all come from Rolling Stone (magazine) by the way.
