lol I can't believe how this was ever possible at all.. Eve must really have a joke of a security system to make this possible. Go our new community manager, lord Xei will make RaymanZone the place we wanted it to be! :P

Their security must be piss poor, indeed. I mean, if a person can be hacked to be made a full administrator... he can delete other admin accounts, all mods, forums, change passwords quite possibly so that the actual forum owners can't get in... O_o

How exactly did you wanna help Ubisoft out? What did they say back?
 
I had a talk with Xei, and we're thinking that we should just put together a report for them about the security and cost-effectiveness of other forum systems and using a server other than Groupee's, since they pay monthly for that crap. :\ That way, they can at least see things in a business sense rather than hearing repeatedly, "OH, EM GEE HAX."

After all, RZ isn't Counter-Strike. ;D

But anyway, Ms. Kleaneasy was arguing against us, saying how it wasn't her choice and all. So this is why I thought a report that could be e-mailed might help, since it's something she can print off, send as a memo, whatever to her co-workers. Then they can see it from a more sensible cost-wise manner.
 
I love the fact that it's SO easy to remove and add Mods and Community Managers...no passwords or anything. Just a check of the box and the click of the button and it's all said and done.
 
It's like that with most forum systems though. The main difference is that they're all checked by default.
 
LOL I do have to say that sometimes, I feel the Frag Dolls is a little... erm... I want to say sexist. Just because it seems like their aim to prove that girls can game too, even though I know plenty of girl gamers out there, and it seems they're only there to add sex appeal or something. :\

What do you think of the report idea anyway? Think they'd consider it more if it was presented in that kind of manner?
 
It would probably be a waste of time...Ubisoft doesn't give a shit about the forums. They blame the community managers and the Mods for the repeated hacks.
 
For a little detail. I suppose an administrator account was required to make another member admin (Xei), but the only users with that kind of permission were admins like Razz and stuff. I think FCY is the mod with most permissions, he was even able to mess with stylesheets for us when we asked for a new RZ forum design, but of course he wasn't able to manage member permissions other than banning and related actions. Well after all, I'm looking forward to Ubisoft's actions against this.. But I suppose they'll just keep using this rubbish Eve system and let it be hacked again later, or whatever will happen to those forums.. Maybe they will spend another 5 months to restore lol...
