Rayman 3 scores

I looked it up now. I got 7940 the last time I played. I missed one yellow gem in the last combo (there are nine gems on three lanes before you fall onto the last lane, it's quite tricky to get all of them) but that's the only mistake. I don't know how much it cost me exactly but I guessed about 150 points. Therefore the maximum should be about 8100, maybe a bit less, maybe a bit more.

Getting this score is mostly straight forward, the only trick is to jump off the lane a moment before you rush into the fog which ends the level. You are not able to get the last two or three gems but the last combo is counted instead. @Xenon: Maybe this is the combo you're missing, as the rest is pretty easy.
 
I will take a critical look at the walkthrough. And yes, you got the Tribelle combo right. As for the green gem, it's a bit tricky. If you just go ahead you will miss one yellow gem. You have to make a jump sometime before that particular path ends to get the missing yellow gem below.

Edit: sfn, as I understand you, you are able to jump off the final lane just before the last two gems and continue the game after being lifted up again? I'm not, the game will finish if I jump off the last lane anywhere. Thus I cannot get any gems on that lane in combo. That could be the reason why there's a difference.
 
I've got that combo working many times in the past (in fact I think I got it when I first tried for a good score back in 2005), but nowadays it occurs to irregularly it's torture to play this part of TFC! I'm still unsure about how you can both manage to get 8000+ points in this level but I guess it's something I'll have to explore next time I play. I also struggle with that part where a row of yellow gems end and a new set is started on the board ahead. This board is horribly positioned so that there isn't quite enough jump space.
 
@MandM: I think you misunderstood me. I jump off the lane and land in the fog, so that the level ends. I miss some gems but I get the combo before counted instead because Rayman flies through the fog for a moment and it takes more time before the percentage counter appears than when I rush into the fog along the lane. Thus, I get the combo points when jumping off and don't get them when staying on.

I've been playing the Land today, and here's what I was able to do:
-Do the matuvu combo
-Do an improved throttle copter combo (it includes the piggy banks and the gems on the ground near the yellow can, considering that I was never able to get them in combo at the end of the hoodlum combo)
-Kill the three hoodmongers in combo with a yellow gem
-Kill the hoodstormer in combo with the remaining gem, and go on like in the hoodlum combo until the piggy banks
-Do the last part of the hoodlum combo, from the gems in the tunnel to the gems near the mushroom screw
-Do the green gem combo

It was worth a total of 35400 points. Unfortunately, it's not enough, but I know what I have to do now. I must get the gem at the entrance of the tunnel in combo with the piggy banks on the ledge, and I should without a doubt get more than 37000 points. I remember doing it once or twice, but most of the time, the camera goes down the crapper and fucks up my combo. I admit I'm having problems right there :?

sfn: Ok, I will try to understand. You jump off the final lane before you take the last two gems, right? And the combo points from the nine yellow gems above and the rest of the gems on the final lane, except for the last two, actually count even though the game is finishing? If that is the case, I’ll have to play the level again. I can get a higher score. :D

Xenon: My score in the last part in FC is about 7.500+ points. But following sfn you should be able to get a higher score than that.

Yep, and that's what I just did :D I finished part 1 with a score of 37578 :partyhat: It could have been much better but for some reason, I missed the gems from the piggy banks on the ledge. Anyway, I've been through part 1, and that's the most important. I hope it will be enough to get the maximum score ^^
 
Hunchman: Great score. The worst is over, although there are some challenging combos ahead.

sfn: Ok, I got it sorted out. I replayed the last part a few times. I realised I usually get 7.800 points in that part, but jumping off like you do is worth a wee bit more points. You can get 7.990 points that way, leaving the last two gems alone.
 
@Mostwanted : Can you make a video of the knaaren glitch already ? I've tried both MandM's way and DTUCC's way several but both won't trigger the glitch. I don't have many time to play because i have school tough :(
 
He must make one for the fourth Matuvu glitch too! :P

By the way Mand, how did you manage to get 44207? If I add up the missing points I would get about 43800, so have you changed/modified any existing combos in the solution?
 
Oh, I forgot. I think I promised it you, sorry. I could make one first Thursday, because I have to learn for school, too. I will send you the vid, where is the place on the left side to trigger the Glitch.
Well, to me: I made a little progress: I finished Part 1 of HH with a score low under 26.000.
EDIT: Well, the message comes again :roll: : Yeah, when I made a video for Knaaren-Glitch I can also made one for the fourth matuvu :P
 
26000 after part 1? Blimey, that's certainly enough to proceed. I found part 1 harder than part 2, anyway.
By the way, what is this error?

I can't find any spot where I can jump onto those balloons... Is there some glitch again?
 
@Hunch: Well, maybe....
There aren't any ballons which you can see in the background? That's very curious...
@Xenon: It sounds very strange, but I found the last two combos (with the Mushroom-Secret where is the green gem) are the hardest. I played the first two combos so often, that I found them easier than the other. At the last two combos I failed in 80 percent....
 
Hunchman: There is no glitch this time. Run and jump as high as possible towards the first balloon. With some practise you should be able to reach it. It's hard at first though.

I'm not even close :? Well, I'll try again. By the way, there's a third hoodstormer in my version, and I don't think it's mentioned in the solution. Could it be a PC specificity?
 
I have never heard of a third Hoodstormer. When does it appear? In the first combo or in the second? It should mean more points I guess.
 
I thought I counted three as well: one with the first wave of Hoodmongers, one with the second and a lone third one. I comboed it after the other two, but I swore this was included in the solution.
 
That's exactly what Xenon said. It appears after the second wave, when you approach the balloons. However, it's almost impossible to get it in combo, because of the time it takes to make it appear. If it's not a specificity, then I have reasons to believe that the level is the same in the PC version, and that I should be able to jump onto the first balloon after all.
 
I think I managed it by charging a full fist before the Hoodstormer appears. Then you just have to feed it two more shots fast and the combo is complete.
