Well, when you go into lava, when you touch it first time, you lose energy, by the next strong touch you loose points, by the third you'll loose a lot of energy and by the last you will die.
 
@Xenon: I have 82181 points. If I manage to follow the scheme MandM described somewhere in this topic I should be able to get a little more points than you have.
 
Well, I got 81980 points after part 5. I used a rather basic technique for part 6 and hit Razoff twice each time - if you can hit him three or more times, you should be able to get 97,000+, but it's nearly impossible to get it right every time. Anyway, you should certainly get more than me.
 
I think I'll have enough troubles hitting him twice each time and I am not sure whether playing for three or more hits is worth the effort as I can't get the maximum, no matter how well I play. Therefore I'll probably settle for the basic technique, too.

EDIT: I've started with part 6 now and it worked better than expected. But I have some important questions: After each can, is it normal that you have to hit Razoff several times (without can) to make the next can appear? Secondly: I have some troubles getting to the red can in time before Razoff destroys it, especially when the can is in the backfield and Razoff moves towards the can immediately after I hit him. However, there are no problems when he swings around before crushing the can. Are there any special techniques to make him swing around a little bit before destroying the can every time or is it just about being lucky?
 
sfn: I can certainly understand you settled for two hits on Razoff. I did the same when I tried for the Razoff glitch the first time. It is a great feeling improving your score in BOM and it quite overshadows the frustration of not hitting him three times. You will be able to get it next time, no doubt about that.

If you follow the strategy 2-2-1-2-2, which we have talked about before, then you will have to hit him four times without the HMF before a new can appears. If you follow the strategy 2-3-3-3 a new can will appear right away. However, it is extremely hard to successively hit him three times.

It is indeed difficult to renew the HMF after the second to last series of hits, and especially so if the can is far away. In the case where the can is far away, I sometimes roll into the wrecking ball while it is destroying the can and renewing it that way. And then one has to rush back to be in position for the last series of hits. It's an ordeal, but it's doable. I don't have any special technique to make him delay the destruction of the cans. However, there are only three cans where you have to do that. It will prove to be an minor problem I'm sure.
 
Thanks for the explanation! Hitting him thrice is not that difficult when I have time to prepare Razoff's position, i.e. before he destroys the can. Hitting him three times after he destroys the can seems horribly difficult to me as he often comes from a very straight angle so that I can hit him very late. So I'll try to go for either 3-2-2-2 or 3-2-3-2 as a basic strategy. In the end I should be able to get about 96000, maybe a little more.

About the Razoff glitch: I had the feeling that I got a lot closer in the end. I managed to hit him twice a lot more often than in the beginning and I got an ounce of the feeling of how Razoff moves. So, hopefully I can do it next time.
 
As for the Razoff glitch, it is my experience the feeling for his movements comes and goes. I have played for about five days trying to hit him four times. The first two days I hit nothing. The third day I had a good feeling and hit him three times numerous times and two times even more frequently. The last two days it has been back to nothing. For some reason the game seems different at times and I'm not sure what causes that. Maybe just my imagination.
 
I experienced similar things with the Stairs Combos. One day I managed it perfectly every time and the next day I blew it like ten times in a row.

Anyway, I'm getting a better feeling of how to hit Razoff in part 6 and I managed returning to the red can before Razoff stomps it better than before. It will probably take me some more days to finish it but I had some pretty good attempts already and I know that I'm getting closer.

EDIT: Yeah, I've done it, faster than expected.

Congratulations! That's an quite super score :bigup:
But the fact, that you have now more points than me, must be corrected. I will this time try to play the second Part of SBTC again and there get 88.000 (I'm fear of the first scaffolding combo in the last room).
 
sfn: That's a cool score, and without the triple glitch even. How many times did you hit him on the ball in the last series of hits?

What will you play next?
 
He could play HH or CF next, when he won't play a horrorlevel, he should play HH ( I find CF more challenging, because of the Master-Kaag-Combo).
BTW, has anyone tips for the first scaffolding combo in SBTC, Part 2, last room? I can't find the place, where you have to stand, when you want to kill the Elite Hoodmonger more.
 
Congratulations sfn! That's an awesome score, both totally and also for TBOM. I have now been cranked down to seventh position :lol:
 
@MandM: I hit Razoff the following way: 1st can: 3-2-3-3 2nd: 2-2-1-2-2 3rd: 2-2-1-2-2 4th: 2-2-1-4 and then I killed him. After I managed the first can so well I didn't risk anything as I've blown similar beginnings before by taking too much of a risk.

BTW, I've improved TLS from 41009 to 41038 already. As I found 41009 an ugly number, I just had to correct it.

The next level I'll play will probably CF. HH is a horrible level to me, especially the first part, I don't want to play that now. And CF is a reasonable option as I can improve by almost 5000 points. However, I know of the difficulties with the launching glitch and the stomping part and it will probably take me a lot of time to manage both of them.

Actually it's not too bad - the launching glitch. It takes around 8 minutes to trigger it each round (or maybe less if you use my technique :hehe: ), and then all you have to do is get everything else right. Really, I got through part 2 quicker than I anticipated, so you'll probably get through it in no time.

The final combo, however, is very hard. At least for me. I'm probably going to play again today to have another shot at it.

I remember MandM saying that there is an exact spot to stand where the lock-on is achievable. I only found this spot a few times. Apparently, it's close to a darker patch of snow, but I'm afraid I don't remember anymore :(

All three of us are very close so our positions will change more than once in the next few weeks. BTW, what is christiaens' score? I must be very close to his now.
