@Xenon: It would be great if you could make the video. Especially the launching technique didn't work for me, so it would be tremendous help.

It's basically the same as Jona's and DTUCC's, only that the roll needs to be performed slightly differently. You still get launched into the air (sometimes really high actually!)

I played again and managed the jump at the very first attempt. I also managed it after busting the door (it seems easier to me when the door is down), then I almost managed the Matuvu-combo, which seems not that difficult when I weaken the Hoodblasters and don't care about taking the final gems with the Lockjaw but I destroyed the wrong piggy bank on the way, so I couldn't try the green gem-combo (theoretically I could have but then I would have had to use DTUCC's method which seems not to work and which I have not much patience for). Then I restarted and tried and tried and tried but I couldn't do the jump again, even after playing for about 20 minutes. Eventually I stopped, because I didn't want to get as annoyed as I was yesterday.

Well, if you got the Matuvu with the Lockjaw and you've broken the wrong pig, you could actually have continued. You can take the yellow gems and break the rest of the pigs without the HMF. When you kill the Hoodblaster you will get the Vortex and you can still get the green gem for 9.000 points in combo. You only lose a few hundred points that way. It should still be enough for 53.000 - 54.000 points after part 2.

Ah, I forgot about that but it didn't matter anyway as I didn't combo the Matuvu. I had enough time but I went into look mode too early, it was a once-in-lifetime mistake, stupid but not troubling.

@MandM: 833.355 is my current score now. Hope I can improve it fast

By the way, I got 3.090 after Part 2 in FC, I just checked out how it works with the horrible matuvu-combos in Part 3. It seems that I need months to get an (for me) acceptable score there and I manage all two matuvu combos correctly in a row.

I got up once or twice but I'm still having troubles with the combos. The Matuvu-combo I could manage theoretically but then I make stupid mistakes all the time and the green gem-combo seems impossible to me. I'm not even close to comboing the gem. And as I'm rarely getting up I don't even have many chances to practice these combos. To sum it up, it doesn't look very hopeful at the moment.

The green gem combo requires some practise. You need to take the red gem on the Mushroom as late as possible and quickly jump further up as soon as the hands grab hold on the ledge. And then you quickly have to roll into the green gem. You can take the red gem a little late by jumping on the right side of the Mushroom as you face it.

The Matuvu Combo will not be a major difficulty forever. You'll get the hang of it.

Hehe, I didn't expect so many of you would still be playing R3! Love to see the discussions though, it reminds me of those good old times. I should install R3 on my own newer comp, but I'm wondering if my savegame is still on the other computer... I believe when I got my new comp R3 was removed from the other one. I hope I can manage to bring my savegame back somehow. It could also be on my even older computer, when I went back there to try some combos on the old comp because there the game was so sloppy that some jumps were easier to make... anyhow, it would suck having to play all the levels over again for the maximum score. That could take me months to actually manage everything again, especially since I haven't played the game intensively for like two years I think. But it sounds like fun trying all those combos again anyway, and discussing with you guys

And mostwanted, you got over 109000 in SBTC? Wow, congrats. You got the green gem in combo with the launching glitch there I assume? That's sweet, if I were you I wouldn't have replayed the part either, because one can only dream of having AND the launching glitch AND getting the green gem in the same run. I would easily have settled for that score, I have 104500 in that level I think. Nice job

Edit: Damn, I just installed R3 on my PC and found my savegame... but the game doesn't work. It might be incompatible with Vista or something, but when I open the game it gives the Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc screen and then the game doesn't open, I just stay in windows. I do remember that happening a few times on my previous comp, but on that one it worked most of the time. Strange...

Well, it’s been a long time. It would be great to have you back among the active players again. I guess you do feel a bit rusty, but I’m sure you can dust off the old combos again.

At the moment I’m trying to hit Razoff four times, as it is one of the last things for me to do in this game. So far the bugger’s been eluding me, but I’ll keep on going.

Heh, I looked at when the savegame was last changed, and it was in November 2005. So in fact it's over three years ago, lol. Too bad it doesn't work on my new comp so far (see edit) but maybe I can go back to playing on the other comp a few times!

Anyway, is that part 6 of BOM that you're playing now?

I heard there's been trouble getting R3 to run on Vista. I have recently bought the game for pc and I will try it out during the holiday, as it should be different in certain places compated to console versions. In any case, I will run it on XP.

I'm in BOM part 5. I need the triple Razoff glitch to improve my score. I have 99.999 points in BOM at the moment and to raise that I need to hit him four times. It's quite an ordeal.

I have similar problems as you're having. I bought the PC version of R3 a few weeks ago, but the game isn't working at all - everything's either invisible or see-through, which is strange.. I believe my problem is down to the graphics though, as I'm only using Graphtite or something of low quality.

I'm currently playing Clearleaf Forest and have been for quite a long time. I've discovered how to enhance the launching glitch you found in part 2 to make it easier to achieve on a more regular basis. That out of the way, I'm now in part 4; the Masterkaag area. I've been stuck here for a long time actually, which is such a disappointment because I want to finish CF so badly to make my score 830.000. My current score in CF is 102538 but I'm going to play until I reach the maximum, 109759 and settle for nothing smaller.

@Xenon: That's a good adjustment. Just go for the max until you had reach it, don't give up.
Well, my target to get 835.000 is endangered. You know, I'm playin' FC (Part 3) now, and just when I managed the Matuvu-Combo completely right, I fail at the other combo ( that I persent on YouTube). I'll get many troubles though to get 44.000 there.

I see, that sucks. Do you have any idea if there's a solution to make it work for Vista?

And yep, the triple glitch is very very hard to do indeed... I played that part a lot, and I actually only managed to do it two or three times, which was on my oldest comp. Not sure if there is a trick for it, sometimes the double glitch doesn't even always work either. Guess it just depends on luck for the most part...

But hey, you'd be the first one ever to get over 100k in BOM, and that would definitely be a milestone. I have like 99600, got that with the double glitch. It's a shame the last 3000 of beating Razoff don't get added up as combo points, otherwise we could get like 103399 or even 103599 (in a very ideal situation, that is :p)!

But the maximum score in BOM is 100599, right?

Well, yeah, thank you, 109.000 in TSBTC is a real challenge. How you'd certain read, I first wanted to get 112.000, but I didn't had the patience for that.
Anyways, it would be indeed great if you get Rayman 3 working, you just need a bit practice.
And the max score in BOM is 100.799 ^^
Almost I forgot it: I also play Rayman 3 on Vista. Try to make it in compatibility-mode.

Can someone explain how the maximum is 100799 though? I haven't ever gone for anything over 100k in TBOM, but really I can't see how it's possible. I got 81980 points after part 5, and I was around 3000 points below the maximum score after this part, but that's not so bad. However, assuming that the maximum is 100799, it means I've actually lost 6000 points in the whole of TBOM, which I just can't account for. Oh, and plus another 3000 points for killing Razoff with the HMF. That's 9000 points I've lost, 6000 of which I just can't find anywhere. Done the triple glitch, got 43000 after part 3... I'm very lost here. ^__^ Of course, I won't be playing TBOM for a very long time (or ever), but I'm still interested in where these missing points lie.

Well, you do need a triple glitch to get a score that's high enough to reach 100k with the combos you can make in part 6. When I last played TBOM I got 99600 in the end with a double glitch in part 5, which was good enough for me after trying the sixth part for a long time to rack up decent combos there. I lost practically no points in the previous parts, so a double glitch can be enough to get just 99999. However, it comes up just a bit short to reach over 100k with the final Razoff combos, so the ideal situation with a double glitch is that you finish Razoff off at a score of just lower than 97000, so you will score the 3000 and get close to 100k. If you had a triple glitch you win 4500 points, so you can already get to 100k before scoring the final 3000 points for beating Razoff.

Okay, I think I understand. I reckon the lost points were in parts 5 and 6. Part 5 because of the green gem which only got comboed for 1500 points and part 6 because the sequence was 3,2,2,2,2,2,2,4. I suppose it's possible to make 4,4,4,4 but that would be excessively hard.

I wonder, did you combo the green gem in part 5 for 3000 points using DTUCC's method?
