Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Yeah, I can agree with you on that one. And there are quite a few Matuvus elsewhere that would be manageable if only they were placed in a more friendly position.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
There's something that annoys me even more.
There appears to be a set range where at such a distance, the Matuvu is inaccessible, so it cannot be taken regardless of how zoomed in the camera is. This greatly annoys me as it has ruined many a combo. Imagine, in the 3 Matuvu Combo being able to take the first one at the end for an additional 500 or so points. And imagine taking the second Matuvu in part 4 after the first. So many combos, or even predicaments, could be profitably solved...

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
There are some Matuvus that are just barely out of reach, like the one in FC part 2 for a 1.000 points in combo. There are also a few in DOTK part 4, I think. I have made some serious effort to get the first Matuvu in the 3MC for 2.000 points, but so far I've been unsuccessful.
The worst of the Matuvus that are manageable must be the one in LS part 1. It is so horribly difficult and you have to zoom in to get it. There's no red circle.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Yes I've been trying that one today and had no luck at all. Rayman has to be thrown back at one specific spot where the Lockjaw can be taken at the furthest point, while running towards the secret. Otherwise it is instantly impossible. How I detest that Matuvu.
And speaking of TLS, I've improved my score to 41060, but I'm still 300 points below DTUCC. Scoring has become so incredibly hard now, and it has been ever since I touched on 845000. It's a whole new league.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
There is exactly one spot on the floor where it is possible to get the Matuvu and get to the secret room in time. There's not much help in the marks on the floor and such, so you have to sort it out by trial and error. Expect a lot of the latter.
I think DTUCC once made a video where he comboed the Matuvu for 500 points. Or was it 1000 points? Maybe it could give you some inspiration.
It is indeed getting so much harder to score points. I'm happy every time I find another extra few hundred points. At the moment I'm working my @rse off getting 400 extra points. Don't even know if it is possible.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Haha, I just hit the Shoe 7 times in a row. I also hit it five times when it entered the secret area, comboing all the red gems. I think the combo reached around 900 points.
Both times I failed though.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Hmm, that alone would have secured you second place in HOF, right?
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Unfortunately I messed up the last combo, so all failed miserably. I'll either need an extremely good round (like the one I mentioned above) with the red gems, or I'll need to combo the Matuvu. I'm incredibly close - I'm about 0.2 seconds away from comboing it.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Are you aiming to get the Matuvu for 500, 1.000 or 1.500 points in combo?
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
For now I'm aiming to get whatever it takes to become second. At the moment I'm not playing for an excellent score in TLS, just one that would secure a more respectable position in the rank list. If it involves taking the Matuvu for more than 500 points, I shall be overjoyed, but at the same time worried for the next time I aim to improve my TLS score.
What level are you playing at the moment?

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
I'm still in BOM part 6, where I play once in a while. I'm trying to find a way to make Razoff stay on the ball a little longer, but so far no success. It could mean a new maximum score for BOM, but I don't know if it is possible. It's the part 6 equivalent to the triple Razoff Glitch in part 5.
Otherwise I play other levels for fun and try to get the maximum scores in various levels. Tonight I finished CF with 109.759 after only my second attempt at that horrible Hoodstomper Combo.

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
As you can see, I have already imported 23 scores from MandM's last top 100, nine of whom are among the top ten players. I'm clueless who romu/babyromuald is, but well, we already have most of the best players in the list.
Could anyone check if I haven't made any mistakes?

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
That is very awesome indeed. It makes me want to get a working copy of R3 again...
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Hunchman: It's really awesome to have a working HOF again. You have done a great job making it work.
I have improved my score a little bit since my version of the HOF. I will try entering the code tonight.
I don't know much about romu, but he was active a few years ago. I think he stopped playing around the time the RZ HOF broke down for good. I can vouch for his scores.
Xenon: How are things in LS?

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Thank you! It took me almost one year, but dealing with huge companies is far from easy, especially when you have no idea who to contact. Some people will just ignore all of your mails, and there's nothing you can do about it.MandM81 wrote:Hunchman: It's really awesome to have a working HOF again. It's just that he would deserve to be in the list, but I can't find him among PC users.MandM81 wrote:I don't know much about romu, but he was active a few years ago. I think he stopped playing around the time the RZ HOF broke down for good. I can vouch for his scores.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Hunchman: It's really worth your effort. I just entered a code for my improved score and it's bloody working!!!
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
The Shoekart is driving me round the bend, quite literally. I'm so sick and tired of losing the combo because the Shoe drives off into the centre area of the arena. I just hate it when I'm JUST behind it but there's nothing I can do to continue the combo.
Blimey, what does it take to get 300 points around here?

Re: Rayman 3 Scores
Hehe, yeah the Shoes will drive anyone nuts. But isn't it enough to make the Shoes go into the tunnel with the red gems and hit it a handful of times in combo with the red gems? I'm sure 300 points can be found that way.
Re: Rayman 3 Scores
My original score (the 41060 one) involved a 690 red gem combo and a 120 Shoe combo, I believe. At the moment I can only get a 690 red gem combo once every thrice or so attempts, so there's some pretty soggy biscuits for you. I have once been able to pull of a 870 point combo, but this is then wrecked either with the final Shoe combos or the main chunk of the green gem combo. If I could get a combo of 870 again (this means hitting the Shoe five times in a row, and believe me, that isn't easy) and three hits then I could get those 300 points.
Alternatively, I could simply combo the Matuvu, but then I'm 0.0002 seconds off EVERY SINGLE TIME. How downgrading is that? After the Shoe is defeated the short cinematic doesn't commence for about a second. Why in the name of all that's holy does this second exist?
