Rayman 2 on Windows 7?

hey guys,

i rediscovered my rayman 2 cd while sorting through some crap and have been trying to get it to run on my windows 7 x64 laptop.
any help on how to go about this would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know.... Windows 7 is new so they're no patches for it as far as i know....
You should google it or something like that
 
There is an feature in Windows 7, it's a slimmed down virtual machine that runs some kind of Windows XP. You will need to run it in there.
 
Well, Windows 7 is 100% compatible with Windows Vista, which runs Rayman 2. I think the problem is that it is x64. If you have any 32-bit PC, that would be the best bet. Is that Windows 7 RC or RTM (just curious)?

No cheese for users of 7 HB/ST/HP, this is only for Ultimates, Enterprises and- supposedly - Pr0oOes.
 
thanks for the help, unfortunately i havnt been able to get the xp mode, its only for the RC and im running the RTM
 
What? I'm not setting up the game for download, just a patched exe file to prevent an annoying and stupid error from happening.

your modifying original game file which is against the games terms of service, go and read it if you want

its clearly illegal and you shoould only contact them to get problem fixed
 
UbiSoft doesn't care about modifications of Rayman 2, much less the people who play it. I wouldn't contact them about it.
 
lol you cant be so sure its their intellectual property and ill contact them and youll be contacted by them obviously

There are some companies that just don't reply to fans eg. DC Thompson and Co. Ltd. With UbiSoft's stupid Rabbids franchise and all the effort they're putting into it, I doubt Rayman fans' questions will be answered for a long time.
Also, I'm not the one who made the patch, I'm just providing a handy link for all PC members who suffer from the same error.
 
Have you updated the drivers of your video card ? That's always the first thing to do when you can't run a game and you're hardware is fast enough.

You may also want to run it in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows, i would suggest Windows 98. I don't know how you do that anymore though :(
 
Rayman 2 doesn't work on any 64-bit OS, due to the copy protection software the game uses. You have to illegally download it to get it to work. I should know, I have both Vista 32-bit and Vista 64-bit to compare with. Rayman 2 works just fine with Vista 32-bit (if you install the no CD patch as well); however, you did say Windows 7 64-bit, so that is actually a no-go.

Either get 32-bit (if possible) or just illegally download Rayman 2 somewhere.

WRONG! I have played it on both XP and Vista and it has worked. Also, it works on Mac? News to me! :P
 
I got this problem now on my win7 x64 ulti..
it would be nice if anybody has got it working?
