A lot of commercial sites do cost money to run as well as the servers they have/had. I think it was also a matter of keeping the info up to date but they obviously failed to do so.
I'm not sure about the keeping the info up-to-date part as you're kinda limited on what else you can write on an old game, but they certainly fail at that on RZ
It was said somewhere that one of the things that should happen on the "next" hack (it was a long time ago) was that they should merge PC with RZ. They then said that that would be the "Golden Age". No-one agreed.
