Hey, you'd be one of the victims too if that happened. Unless you're secretly planning to take over something or other.spiraldoor wrote:@Democracy: Owned!PluMGMK wrote:I just heard that Poland ratified it. This just leaves the Czech Republic...

Re: EU
I cannot grasp the stupidity of that post. You are just trying (and succeeding) to annoy me.

Re: EU
Apparently, Irish voting rights in Europe will be decreased, democracy as a whole will be negatively affected, etc. However, Spiral's idea that it will federalise the EU is incorrect. I bet you 1000 Tings.
Re: EU
Irish voting rights won't be decreased, as far as I know. The Lisbon Treaty will just make it easier for the Council of Ministers to gain qualified majority without Ireland's support. To me this doesn't negatively affect democracy at all, since the Irish population constitutes less than 1% of the total population of the EU.PluMGMK wrote:Apparently, Irish voting rights in Europe will be decreased, democracy as a whole will be negatively affected

Re: EU
Lucky you to have a neutral viewpoint. Here in Ireland, we kept getting bombarded with propaganda from the Yes and No sides.Tobbe wrote:Irish voting rights won't be decreased, as far as I know. Re: EU
That happened in Norway too in '72 and '94 when we voted against joining the EU. The 'NO-side' always screams the loudest during these propaganda wars, and it's always easier for them to win, even though they might have a much worse case than the 'yes-side'.

Re: EU
Every single poster I saw (both pro- and anti-Lisbon) was a blatant lie. It was kind of amusing, in a way.PluMGMK wrote:Lucky you to have a neutral viewpoint.
