Flashkit, free resource packs on Yoyogames, and myself and friends making stuff, really, for the sound effects.

As for all the music, it's all on Newgrounds. I PM'd the creators of the music for permission to use as well, just to be sure (even though the songs are marked as free to use, but you can never be too sure).

Thanks.

I've been working on my bossfights more, and I decided to give Phoenixan a new ability that exists across both elements: rolling.

So press jump while crawling to go into a quick roll.

So expect more fast-paced battles.

Plus I realized that you need a way to speed up on ice since I kind of have little sonic-like loops and things.

Not to say I will keep those in, because I'm not entirely sure I want to keep those maps in the final release, since the snowy mountain area is more-so a mini-hub between two worlds (an ice temple and a shadow temple). So it has to be kept kind of open-ended for easy access between the two other areas. Plus I kind of have Rayman 1/2 ice/sliding areas in the Ice Temple.

Actually, now that I think about it, I'll probably merge the loop puzzles and stuff into the Ice Temple.

We'll see.

Whatever I think fits the most. :P

Re: Phoenixan: Fire Under Siege - IMPORTANT NEWS

Post by Phoenixan »

After 4 long years, I have some important news to deliver to you regarding this game.

It's not in my power to exactly give everyone all the details, but due to an agreement I've made, this game now has a definite release date that I have to make, whether I am happy with the results at that time or not. This is mostly for career reasons involving some people that have agreed to help me with the project.

So the official release date is June 2010.

Thank you.

As I told you on MSN before, I'm glad that you'll finally get it finished, but at the same time, I hope you manage to finish it before that time. Good luck! You'll certainly need it. :D

It's nice that you finally have a release date, but at the same time I'm worried that you'll have to release a product that you're not completely satisfied with. That would be a major disappointment for a game you've been working on for five years. Good luck finishing the game, anyway! :)

I just hope I'll be able to play it before I'm sent to the Russian border at the end of June next year. :P

Yeah, but June 2010 is also the month of the FIFA World Cup, so I'll probably spend most of my spare time watching football :P (even though Norway just didn't qualify :().

I have a mock-up CD case cover now. With a few more edits, it's going on the web space when I get around to working on that.

Nice drawings, Mr. Lawrence! :P I think you should edit the title a little, though. It should be more prominent in the picture imo.

Wow. I remember being really impressed with this at the time and now it's just...just wow. I really love how far you've come with this PI, not to mention how much it's developed since I was last here.

Yep. :) I haven't been able to really scan anything in terms of concept art yet though, just because I'm kind of away from good scanners, net, etc. at the moment for Christmas.
