I wonder: Will trading between D/P/PL and the G/S remakes be accessible at the beginning of the game? I want to know if this is possible, because I need two files on a Heart Gold to trade a Totodile and a Chikorita to my Pearl version.

I doubt it will be accessible at the beginning of the game. It will probably be like R/S/E and FR/LG.
