Re: Something we don't know about you
Something you don't know about me? I'm currently trying to find a free 3D game maker, to make a game obviously.
Re: Something we don't know about you
Something about me... well, I've drilled my finger once in CDT, but I was fine afterwards. The result was just a very noticeable black mark on my nail which, as my finger nail grew, slowly went up and up until it vanished. It was quite sad lol.
Also, apparently I have a slight "English" accent when I pronounce certain words, which I think must come from my mum since she lived in London for a good few years. Hmmffph.

I don't have any kind of accent at all. Just a flat, boring voice. I like it that way.
Re: Something we don't know about you
You must have some kind of local accent, that you just haven't really noticed?

I believe you already told us this.spiraldoor wrote:I don't have any kind of accent at all. Just a flat, boring voice. I like it that way.
Re: Something we don't know about you
People who speak in regional accents think the way they talk is totally neutral. If I heard spiraldoor speak I'd probably recognise a different accent.
Re: Something we don't know about you
I don't even know if I sound weird. Meh.

Re: Something we don't know about you
Many Danes actually do talk with a slightly flat accent, at least compared to people in most other countries. Sounds hillarious when we speak English the same way. It isn't completely flat though, and it changes depending on where in the country you are.
Re: Something we don't know about you
I'm terrible at understanding strong accents. Absolutely terrible! And it's also quite embarissing having to ask the person to repeat what they said...
There's a new actor in Eastenders (I can't remember her name but she's quite old and has a pet bird) and her southern accent is so thick, I'm sitting there like "wtf?!".

Re: Something we don't know about you
I had trouble with this pizza delivery guy once, who had a really strong accent.

Thick Scandinavian English accents are always funny. Ever heard of a guy called Petter Solberg?El Dango wrote:Many Danes actually do talk with a slightly flat accent, at least compared to people in most other countries. Sounds hillarious when we speak English the same way.

Re: Something we don't know about you
I'm trying to memorise Hamlet's "To be, or not to be" soliloquy, because it sounds impressive if said in completely unrelated situations. I keep geeting the "And by a sleep to say we end" line wrong.
~Hamlet is from Denmark, but he doesn't have a thick accent, I think.

Re: Something we don't know about you
I understood clearly the "Aye, it's very, very good... and, well unfortunately I..." at the beginning, then I got lost.
He spoke too fast, I guess?

Wouldn't that just make you sound pretty stupid?spiraldoor wrote:it sounds impressive if said in completely unrelated situations.

Okay, something you don't know about me... can't really come up with something right now.

No, not at all!Acarr wrote:Wouldn't that just make you sound pretty stupid?spiraldoor wrote:it sounds impressive if said in completely unrelated situations.
"To be, or not to be: that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them? To die, to sleep; no more, and by a sleep to say we end the heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to; 'tis a consummation, devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep: to sleep, perchance, to dream. Ay, there's the rub. For in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil must give us pause. There's the respect that make calamity of so long life. For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, the oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,"
Hmm, I can't remember the rest.
Well, that's about 45% of it. Not bad, I guess.
Re: Something we don't know about you
But if you said that in the middle of a conversation with somebody, you would look a bit weird...

Lul I have to agree there, I've quoted media before in a conversationAcarr wrote:But if you said that in the middle of a conversation with somebody, you would look a bit weird...
Re: Something we don't know about you
I hate Shakespere, it's so hard to understand anything and then having to do an essay or something on a book is a nightmare... anyone would agree with that.
Re: Something we don't know about you
I agree.
I collect toy penguins. Yes, laugh.

Not me. And I don't think Shakespeare is hard to understand at all.Acarr wrote:I hate Shakespere, it's so hard to understand anything and then having to do an essay or something on a book is a nightmare... anyone would agree with that.
