Earthquake on Chile. Great,Tsunami alert in my hometown.

Post by IllarKallas »

Like i posted in RaymanZone,a Earthquake hitted Chile the past day,i live there,147 dead people, almost 1000 people who lost his houses, almost 9 Ritcher scale,im fine, the Earthquake dindt hit the are where i live, but im worried about the people who lost his houses, and maybe i wont be posting much because problems with my internet,i got a 3G internet and my sister wasted all of the 3G,and a Tsunami will hit Hawai in some hours.

The most probably thing that will happen now: That a mod will lock this thread for being not useful :oops2:

Apparently a resulting tsunami is supposed to hit the east coast of Austrlia (ie where I live) but it seems to have come to nothing.

The number of deaths is actually pretty small so far when you consider the strength of the earthquake.

I'm really glad that you're okay, Super! But it's a very sad event :(

Well, fortunately, Chile isn't a really poor country, so it'll be easier to recover.

BBC news says the death toll is 300+ now and I just know that's bound to rise. Still keeping my fingers crossed...

@HC: the deadliest earthquake that has ever been occurred in China way back in 1556 and that killed well over 800,000 people.

It's strange with all those earthquakes. There has even been a small one in Denmark, and we never have earthquakes. All we can do is hope that it will at least stop for a while.

We in the UK apparently had one back a few years ago but I didn't feel it in my area.

Here's a map of the Ring of Fire, some of which stands right on top of Chile. Man I remember learning about this sort of stuff at school.

Be glad that you're alive, and do what you can to help those affected, even if its just those close to you.

Good to hear you're safe.

Hm, apparently the earthquake was so forceful that it shifted the earth's axis slightly shortening that day by several microseconds...
