In Europe, Germany is being pushed back on all fronts, and in Berlin, Hitler realises that he will likely face a massive attack from the allied forces. He comes to the conclusion that an attack is likely to come from the north, through Norway and Denmark, so the 400 000 soldiers stationed in the country stay put, and build more and stronger fortifications on the coastline. The news of the alliances progress and the hope of seeing an end to the war causes the Norwegian people and the Resistance to stir. Will they make a final effort to chase the Germans out of the country before the end of the war?

However, the newspaper headlines have a discouraging message for the Norwegians: Terboven's investigations are coming to an end, as he came to the conclusion that only Aviator, Echidna and Sierra were still being suspected of being part of the Resistance. According to his Kabinettschef, it is very likely that two of them are on the enemy's side, leaving only one of them innocent. In the cinemas, a Nazi propaganda film filmed during the previous night shows a film called "One Race: Friends across borders, ranks and alliances". It shows the Norwegian Aviator sitting down to a beer in a pub in Oslo with a German officer. The two laugh, talk and apparently have a great time together. The obvious message of the film is to try and convince the Norwegian people that they can have peaceful coexistance with their fellow Aryans, the Germans.

It quickly becomes obvious that not all Norwegians have taken the advice of the film, as Hamlet is found dead in his office. Apparently, he died of poisoning. His real identity is subsequently leaked to the public:

Hamlet

You are Josef Terboven. You have been personally appointed by Hitler as reichskommisar for Norway, which means that you are in reality the dictator of Norway during the occupation. You do not, however, have control of the ca. 400 000 German soldiers stationed in Norway. That responsibility is left to your close ally, Generaloberst Nikolaus von Falkenhorst. For this reason you cooperate closely with him, and you know his identity from the start. Nikolaus von Falkenhorst is Bartholomew.

As of now, you see the Norwegian Resistance as more of a nuisance than a real threat, and you are content to leave the fight against them to people lower down in the system, such as the Norwegian puppet government. However, if the Resistance fighters should manage to kill your closest friend and ally, Generaloberst Von Falkenhorst, you will take matters into your own hands.

You are a part of the Occupational Force (“villagers”). You win if the Resistance is eliminated.

If Von Falkenhorst is killed either by the Resitance or through a lynch, you may start killing at night. To do this you send me a PM entitled “Night X – Kill [user]”.

If you do not wish to kill anyone at night, send a PM to me entitled "Night X - Idling". You don't have to do this unless Bartholomew is dead.

The Resistance have in other words hit the jackpot! But killing the person with the most political power in the country is sure to have the Germans fuming with rage. Will we see another execution today?

Day 5 starts now!

Are we supposed to understand that Echidna and Sierra are the only remaining members of the resistance?!?

After a discussion with other villagers, I now believe that Sierra is totally innocent. I don't know how many mafiosos there are left, but only Echidna and Aviator are still being suspected.

Our inspector should receive a report about the latter soon, so:

Day 5 - Report Echidna.

@Sierra: please change your vote to report Echidna as well.

@Echidna: time to prove if your double vote ability is not a lie.

I guess it'd be better if I were lynched that if someone with a useful power was, but why exactly do you suspect me ?

Don't you think that's really, really weird ? It might be the doing of a journalist working for the Resistance.

How the hell am I supposed to prove this ? With a tie ? If, say, 3 persons were to report me, and 2 others including me were to report another man, then there'd be a tie and no one would get lynched.

To be frank with you: there's either one or two mafiosos left, and it appears that Sierra isn't one of them. If you aren't either, too bad but that's what we call collateral damage :mryellow:

... That's so smart of you. :boon:

A bit unlucky there Echidna, if there was an odd amount of players you could prove your power but unfortunately for you (if you're a villager that is),

Day 5 - Report Echidna
