Now looking to the video carefully, I saw Pirate symbols. Could this be a cameo of the Robo-Pirates or they were already infiltred on the planet and secretly preparing an attack?

Hmm... not Pirate symbols. It's a skeletal head painted on those critters, but the jaw isn't right, and the pattern is uneven. :|

I heard that Ubisoft Frameworks will be released for free.. Is it true? I'd love to check all these nice features. :)

Or free only for non-comercial use, like most of engines (unity, unreal engine and so).

At least I know that the Primordial Forest is the French/Original name for the Pink Plant Woods, just try play Rayman 1 in French.
That's very good to know. It's interesting to see how the developers occasionally revert from weird translations to direct ones, like Rayman 3 using the original ‘the Crossroads of Dreams’ rather than ‘the Glade of Dreams’, which was invented for the English version of Rayman 2.

Would someone mind translating these to English so we can all compare them to the official translations? I don't trust Google Translator, and would like someone with a brain to do it instead.

La Foret des Songes:

La Foret Primordiale
Le Lagon de l'Angoisse
Les Marais de l'Oubli
L'Antre de Moskito

Le Ciel Chromatique:
La Butte aux Bongos
Allegro Presto
Gongs Celestes
Le Charivari de Mr Sax

Les Montagnes Bleus:
Le Ravin du Crepuscule
Le Chaos du Cauchemar
Les Cimes de Mr Stone

La Cite des Images:
La Crique aux Crayons
Panique aux Punaises
Le Cratere de Space Mama

Les Caves de Skops:
Le Palais de Cristal
Mangez chez Joe
Les Stalactites de Skops

Le Château des Delices:
Le Defi de Mr Dark

Here you go ;)

La Foret des Songes: = The Dream Forest

La Foret Primordiale = The Primordial Forest
Le Lagon de l'Angoisse = Anguish Lagoon
Les Marais de l'Oubli = The Swamp of Forgetting
L'Antre de Moskito = Moskito's Lair

Le Ciel Chromatique: = Chromatic Sky ( clever: chromatic refers to colorful but also to music )
La Butte aux Bongos = Bongo Hill
Allegro Presto = Allegro Presto
Gongs Celestes = Celestial Gongs
Le Charivari de Mr Sax = Mr Sax' Hullabaloo

Les Montagnes Bleus: = The Blue Mountains
Le Ravin du Crépuscule = Twilight Gulch
Le Chaos du Cauchemar = The Nightmare's Chaos
Les Cimes de Mr Stone = Mr Stone's Peaks

La Cité des Images: = Picture City
La Crique aux Crayons = Pencil Creek
Panique aux Punaises = ( Drawing ) Pin Panic
Le Cratère de Space Mama = Space Mama's Crater

Les Caves de Skops: = The Caves of Skops
Le Palais de Cristal = Crystal Palace
Mangez chez Joe = Eat at Joe's
Les Stalactites de Skops = Skops' Stalactites

Le Château des Delices: = Castle of Delicious Things ( horrible translation, I know )
Le Défi de Mr Dark = Mr Dark's Challenge

I knew these French names of Rayman 1 levels because my Rayman Collector for PC is French on in-game language. That's quite interesting knowing the original names of the levels, that's why I also like to play Rayman games in French.

There are two Candy Chateau levels?

Candy Chateau is the world name while Mr Dark's Dare is the name of the lone level in it, genius. 8)

La Foret Primordiale = The Primordial Forest
That name is way better than 'Pink Plant Woods'.

Les Marais de l'Oubli = The Swamp of Forgetting
Doesn't the 'Les' mean that it's a plural? And the 'Oubli' makes me think of the word 'Oblivion'. So how about 'The Swamps of Oblivion'? I think it sounds much better, regardless of whether or not it's more accurate. Around about as good as 'The Marshes of Awakening'.

L'Antre de Moskito = Moskito's Lair
'Moskito's Nest' is actually better than that one, I think. There are plenty of 'Lair's in gaming, but not many 'Nest's.

Le Ciel Chromatique: = Chromatic Sky ( clever: chromatic refers to colorful but also to music )
That's a very good name. By comparison, 'Band Land' might as well have been 'Bland Land'. Amirite guys? Amirite?!

Gongs Celestes = Celestial Gongs
I like that one, regardless of whether or not it makes sense.

Le Chaos du Cauchemar = The Nightmare's Chaos
That's a million times better than 'The Hard Rocks'. Sense be damned.

La Crique aux Crayons = Pencil Creek
I think it's a draw between this one and 'Eraser Plains'. They're both good names.

Panique aux Punaises = ( Drawing ) Pin Panic
I think 'Pencil Pentathlon' is cleverer because it's a play on the fact that the level has five parts (or does it? I can't remember. If the level doesn't have five parts, 'Pencil Pentathlon' is a kind of stupid name).

As far as I can tell, the Rayman 2 level names are all direct translations, so there will probably be no cool alternatives there, I'm afraid. I'm not sure about the Rayman 3 levels though.

I just checked Wiktionary and oblivion is actually more correct.

Oblivion and forgetting is basically the same XD
Oblivion sounds better, so yeah. Oh and spiral, you're right. It's plural. So your name is better.

And here are the translations of the R3 names especially for spiraldoor! How awesome is that.

- Le Concile des Fées = The Fairy Council
- La Forêt de Claire-Feuille = The Clearleaf Forest
- Les Marais Crapoteux = The Filthy Swamps
- La Lande aux Esprits Frappés = The Land of the Struck Spirits ( hmm, pretty bad translation I suppose, avoir l'esprit frappé" in French is an expression which means "to be impressed" so in a sense it also means "the land of the impressed" )
- Le Désert des Knaarens = The Desert of the Knaaren ( and knaaren is plural )
- Le Grand Raccourci = The Big Shortcut
- Le Sommet d'Outre-Nuées = The Summit of the Huge Clouds
- Le Quartier Général Hoodlums = The Hoodlums HQ
- La Tour du Leptys The Tower of the Leptys

What about the Rayman 2 levels? I was about to type up their names, but apparently I can't select French when I'm using a pre-existing English gamesave (in the N64 version at least), and I'm not going to play all the way through the game just to get the names. And the PS1 version doesn't even have a French option...

Just a few things:
  • Les Marais Crapoteux is a play on words since toad is crapaud in French
  • In La Lande aux Esprits Frappés, frappé means crazy
  • The Summit Beyond the Clouds is actually the best translation of Le Sommet d'Outre-Nuées
Also, I'm gonna add the alternative translation of Pink Plant Woods on RayWiki.

Yay, now everyone got to notice my crappy French skills. XD
Also, here are the French level names. I can't translate them right now though, I have to go to bed. Maybe tomorrow, or maybe someone else can do it. ;)
