< is going to patrol the Russia-Norway border for a year. At least it's a year without any homework, and < will be in great shape when < gets back. :)

< managed to avoid conscription myself and is super-happy about this cos Russian army is a nightmare.
 
Well my eyesight is crap... all < had to do was to prove them that my vision is too poor to be of any use for the Russian army... one'd think it'd be easy to prove a fact but I had to visit a million doctors every year but it's better than one year of service anyway
 
yeah I'm surprised that such a civilised country like Norway has it :?

edit: actually it's not mentioned in the list of countries with mandatory military service on wikipedia :?:
