It's not racism if you're complaining about them being white. And it doesn't help that everyone in Sokka and Katara's village was Asian(ish).

And I'm not the only one to complain about this; even Angry Joe did in his recent Angry Review of the movie. Oh, how I wish I had heeded his words.

So it’s okay to complain about actors being white but it’s racist to complain about actors not being white? :o
 
I think Saber means that -- OOH IT'S STARTING!!!!!! -- having white actors play asians is as stupid as having white actors play black people. Or vice versa. Phrased it TOTALLY wrong though. :|

Pretty much. Unless it's hard to tell what race they are in the source material, but it was easy in Avatar.
 
Whaddaya mean, who cares? :( It's not nice to insult anyone. There's a thin line between taking the mick out of yourself and being rude about people like you. I agree with your point about Avatar, but that last comment was unnecessary.

I'm just saying that when white people are generalized, it's usually for the sake of humor, but it's never a big deal and rarely means anything. For example, Everybody Hates Chris stereotypes Caucasians all the time, and it's funny, never offensive.

Wait, what am I even talking about now? :? This discussion was about The Last Airbender until spiraldoor twisted it around into Caucasian racism. Just forget it.

Not really. White people and black people look almost completely different, but white people and Asian people (or whatever the politically correct term for them is these days) look similar to the point where one can almost be mistaken for the other.

went to see 'The Losers' a couple of days ago cos there were no tickets for anything else
the movie is the epitome of mediocrity, but friends and beer made it a nice experience anyway :P
 
I just saw Taken at a friend's house. It's a nice action thriller and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a fun time.
