I just read the rayman model ripping tread and saw that rayfan has got the rayman 2 with the non-flat hair from Rayman M
i never noticed it, heres some kind of comparison :

note. left ray has a ray3 texture so colors may be different
I used the Rayman Arena model and heavily modded and improved it to be more 3D and smooth. It has about 6000 tris now.
just some tessellations and smoothing i guess.
also rayman could use a tan in rayman 3, he looks way too white
If that was in the wrong thread or not, it wasn't just tessellation and smoothing even though that made sense. :P

Rayfan, have you got some animations of rayman already, if, then i think you should show some :P

hey rayfan, just to know you think its a good idea put a dark version of he livingstone that sometimes apear from nothing

Yeah, actually, I've got lots. :) I'll post a video sometime soon. I actually kinda forgot to post a video.

Can't wait to see some preview stuff in a video :D

 Seriously, those look great. For a while I'd been a bit worried that Rayman wouldn't quite blend in to the more 'realistic' sets, but you've done an incredible job. He looks right at home! :D

To be honest, I think that the original rayman 2 model looks better (especially because of the hair and the eyes). To me, the thin 2D hair looks more convincing (and more stylish  ) and the bigger eyes suit rayman better.
But still, those screenshots look amazing, especially the light. :D

Edit: Also, the rayman m model has no hair at the back of the head, which makes rayman look bald. I don`t like that.

From my experiences, in the gameplay (from the back mostly), the original Rayman 2 model's hair looks a little dumb, and the Rayman Arena style looks stylish. I also don't think I recognize the baldness you're talking aboot since I've worked with the model so much. Is it any different in Rayman 2?

But that's easily solved by painting a bit of orange on his texture. Or if you want to make it look better, adding some shorter spikey 3D hair.
EDIT -> I actually find that an awesome idea. The 3D hair, I mean. It looks really great so far, but my idea would make it look even better I think. I'd really like to see that. :D

... I really need to learn 3D.

Also Blender is terrible. I could never use it. You want a 10x easier and 10x better program? 3Ds Max.
That's subjective. I agree that it's easier, but not necessarily better, at least if an experienced user know how to use it. :)

Look at this animation, which is purely made in Blender:
It has won two awards, which is MovieSquad Audience and HAFF Audience.

It has also become a game, where models, environment and other parts are also purely made in Blender:
