If they don't come up with a reason for that, then it's a dev fail on their part.MrBadGuy99 said:You know what doesn't make sense? That he has his R3 appearance despite the game being set before all the others, oh well
Not necessarily. There are very easy ways round it, as well as suspending disbelief.Raymale said:If they don't come up with a reason for that, then it's a dev fail on their part.MrBadGuy99 said:You know what doesn't make sense? Ephriokko said:*sigh* Once again I see people completely ignoring past pleas from various members to stop judging the game before we have any more info on it. Honestly. Of course Rayman isn't acting like how we'd know, because this game is centered around how he got to that point.
And honestly I feel the extreme need to facepalm when people are saying 'The devs screwed up terribly because Rayman has is R3 look when it's supposed to be before R1!'
For the love of god, it is very likely this is a ret con or a continuity reboot like people have speculated and it's RIDICULOUS to say the devs are 'screwing up' because they want to do things differently now. There's no actual proof that the previous games will come into the equation at all, and I really can't see them trying in vain to fix/explain how all the games could possibly connect to each other when people are going to disagree or find holes in the logic anyways. I personally see each game as an 'alternate interpretation' of the character and setting, meaning they don't necessarily have to be connected besides the fact that the characters are the same.
Geezus, will you people stop whining about it! It's not finished, it won't be for a while, and being totally pessimistic based on ONE early trailer-I repeat, ONE EARLY TRAILER - is absolutely retarded and ridiculously narrow-minded. God... you don't have to be so caught up in little details that you can't enjoy the fact that we're actually getting a Rayman game without Rabbids for the first time in nearly a decade. While you're complaining that it isn't as great as the older games because you're looking through nostalgia-fogged glasses, some of us actually want to enjoy it without being so damn skeptical.
Okay. Done venting now. But I betcha lots of people are gonna get pissed at me anyways and start an argument. Feel free to do so, I'll be happy to elaborate my opinion further if you're really so intent on arguing with me.
You seem to think that retcons are a good thing... at least you don't seem to see them as bad, which is an interesting approach that I haven't encountered before...Ephriokko said:For the love of god, it is very likely this is a ret con or a continuity reboot like people have speculated and it's RIDICULOUS to say the devs are 'screwing up'
OMFG a new RAYMAN GAME I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED. I DONT CARE HOW IT TURNS OUT OR IF IT RUINS THE REPUTATION OF THE SERIES I JUST WANT MOAR GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111
I don't actually have a problem with this, I was just pointing it out. In fact I would have been very surprised if it hadn't been the R3 designHaruka said:I don't see where's the problem of Rayman having the R3 design. In RRR2 for DS for example, in the artwork was a R3 design and the 3D model was from R2 so...
I completely agree, and I would guess that at least the PS3 Xbox 360, Wii and PC versions will be released at the same time. A delay with the Apple versions is more likely than, say, the Wii version. What would be excelent was RO's release be at the same day for PS3, Xbox360, Wii, iPhone, iPad and PC because everyone could pick in the game and all starting to reviewing it at the same time.
lolMrBadGuy99 said:Wow, you're organised, I never bother to save money for things, I just hope that I'll have it when they're released(I have about 5 pre-orders at the moment and no idea how I'm gonna pay for them come release date)
They’re not going to screw around with his appearance so he looks like he looked fifteen years ago just to avoid a miniscule continuity error. I don’t understand why anyone cares about this. It’s like Sonic fans and the green-eyes debate. I does not matter. At all.MrBadGuy99 said:You know what doesn't make sense? The line ‘how this uncontrollable individual and his grotesque companion become the heroes that we know’ indicates a link between Rayman Origins and the previous games. Of course the game itself will be a colossal retcon from start to finish (all prequels are, considering how they all tamper with past events), but it will not be a reboot. I don’t expect the developers to specifically reference or foreshadow events in the other games, not because they are being ignored but simply because there is no reason to do so. The other games largely kept to themselves, so why deviate from that?Ephriokko said:For the love of god, it is very likely this is a ret con or a continuity reboot like people have speculated and it's RIDICULOUS to say the devs are 'screwing up' because they want to do things differently now.
