I'm not sure but I've heard purple sometimes have a bad signification in Japan. I can't remember what's the signification and all the stuff on Internet are not true, actually.

In the Japanese culture, the purple colour represents the colour of the dead.

Yes. In the Japanese version of Crash Bandicoot 3, Aku Aku comes up to the screen and talks to you sometimes, the TNT crates are replaced with bomb crates, and the guy in Double Header has only one head now.
Yep i knew most of that, but I don't get what's with the one headed guy in double header? IT is could Double Header, so it's very strange.

Yeah, pink is the colour of the dead, not purple.

I think it's silly anyway having to change these details in another region but oh well. We can't do anything. For me it would be the same thing like Globox being redesigned on the NTSC version by getting a thin character in order to avoid people to get shocked and thinking that Globox is the character-type of the American Obese people.

I have the same opinion.

Dude, look at this link. It's clear Hello Kitty wants your dead.

I've been searching on Japanese web site and it seems that meaning of colors change depending to the place you live. Colors doesn't have the same meaning in the north and in the south of Japan. The question of Rayman's skin is still unsolved.

What's funny is that in all the Japanese Rabbids games Rayman's shirt is back to purple again. Had a good check at the JP ROM of TV Party on DS and it's not at all different barring the obvious language. I don't think Rayman 3 was released there so I guess it's just Rayman 2 .

『3』は国内では発売されていないようです。

They said the 3th game wasn't realized in Japan. You can still find it in English, though.

But it's not listed on JP Wikipedia... http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%AC% ... E%E3%83%B3
It's an importation of the English version of the soft ;)

And yeah, the Japanese version of wikipedia isn't complete.

I don't want to say it again: there is NO version of Rayman 3 in Japanese.

Okay, it's the wikipedia's link I already saw. I checked the Japanese page: there is nothing wrong with purple. There is nothing on Japanese web site about why Rayman in blue in Nippon.

In that case the colour change is a very odd situation. I wonder why they did that anyway.
