Re: japanese versions of games
And remember those crappy Back To The Future games? Well, there is actually a good one, but it was only released in Japan! How come we always get screwed over due to laziness??!!!

I'm not sure but I've heard purple sometimes have a bad signification in Japan. I can't remember what's the signification and all the stuff on Internet are not true, actually.Danonanobadray327 wrote:do you have a image or video?Haruka wrote:Rayman on the japanese covers has got blue clothes instead of purple for example.

In the Japanese culture, the purple colour represents the colour of the dead.Raylex wrote:I'm not sure but I've heard purple sometimes have a bad signification in Japan. Yep i knew most of that, but I don't get what's with the one headed guy in double header? IT is could Double Header, so it's very strange.Henchman1028 wrote:Yes. In the Japanese version of Crash Bandicoot 3, Aku Aku comes up to the screen and talks to you sometimes, the TNT crates are replaced with bomb crates, and the guy in Double Header has only one head now.Guywho'saguy wrote:Crash Bandicoot was pretty different on the japanese covers of his game.

Hunch posted something about how there's actually nothing wrong with purple in Japan.Haruka wrote:In the Japanese culture, the purple colour represents the colour of the dead.Raylex wrote:I'm not sure but I've heard purple sometimes have a bad signification in Japan. Yeah, pink is the colour of the dead, not purple.PluMGMK wrote:Hunch posted something about how there's actually nothing wrong with purple in Japan.Haruka wrote:In the Japanese culture, the purple colour represents the colour of the dead.Raylex wrote:I'm not sure but I've heard purple sometimes have a bad signification in Japan. I think it's silly anyway having to change these details in another region but oh well. We can't do anything. For me it would be the same thing like Globox being redesigned on the NTSC version by getting a thin character in order to avoid people to get shocked and thinking that Globox is the character-type of the American Obese people.

I have the same opinion.Haruka wrote:I think it's silly anyway having to change these details in another region but oh well. We can't do anything. Dude, look at this link. It's clear Hello Kitty wants your dead.Henchman1028 wrote:Yeah, pink is the colour of the dead, not purple.
I've been searching on Japanese web site and it seems that meaning of colors change depending to the place you live. Colors doesn't have the same meaning in the north and in the south of Japan. The question of Rayman's skin is still unsolved.

Re: japanese versions of games
What's funny is that in all the Japanese Rabbids games Rayman's shirt is back to purple again. Had a good check at the JP ROM of TV Party on DS and it's not at all different barring the obvious language. I don't think Rayman 3 was released there so I guess it's just Rayman 2 .
Re: japanese versions of games
Actually it exists. *Tries to remember where she saved the Japanese cover pic*StaceyW wrote:(...) I don't think Rayman 3 was released there (...)

They said the 3th game wasn't realized in Japan. You can still find it in English, though.

Re: japanese versions of games
now that we know about the differences of the japanese version of rayman 2,we should know about the diferences of the japanese version of rayman 1 and 3
Re: japanese versions of games
I don't want to say it again: there is NO version of Rayman 3 in Japanese.thebrazilianskaarj wrote:now that we know about the differences of the japanese version of rayman 2,we should know about the diferences of the japanese version of rayman 1 and 3
Okay, it's the wikipedia's link I already saw. I checked the Japanese page: there is nothing wrong with purple. There is nothing on Japanese web site about why Rayman in blue in Nippon.PluMGMK wrote:viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4934&p=496653&hilit=gay+idea+purple#p496653Raylex wrote:I would like to see that link.PluMGMK wrote:Hunch posted something about how there's actually nothing wrong with purple in Japan.
Re: japanese versions of games
In that case the colour change is a very odd situation. I wonder why they did that anyway.
