Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
It would be fantastic in case of putting RR, correcting the FPS to be fully smooth.
Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
Honestly, I'd be very surprised if this pack isn't Rayman 1, Rayman 2 and Rayman 3. Those are the core games of the franchise, and they'd certainly be the three that the general public are most familiar with.

Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
If this is true, I'm seriously wondering what versions of Rayman they would use and if it would come with Arena/M?
I mean I would HOPE they include the Saturn or PSX version of Rayman 1 with the US intro language as well the better colors and MOVIES. I would guess either the Revolution version or Dreamcast version of Rayman 2 would be the way to go. Also somehow adding the Gamecube version of Rayman 3 would be great, or at least shoe in the extra minigames somehow, even though they require a GBA.
Really this all seems too hard for Ubisoft to do in order to offer the "BEST" package available. My guess would be that they will end up releasing the barebones PC versions of all three games with some higher res textures and upped resolution (no upped polys), since I'm sure the PC versions will be the easiest to get running. I really can't imagine Ubisoft would be good at making some deluxe version of the the Rayman trilogy.
My dream set of it would be to have either the Saturn or PSX version of Rayman 1, don't care which. Probably the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2 (They did release Sonic Adventure in the PS3 store, so someone knows how to make Dreamcast/Gamecube games work on PS3) would be best. Then whatever they could do to shoe in the Gamecube version of Rayman 3 with widescreen support etc... would be great. I'm guessing the Tetris style minigame working with the PSP instead of the GBA would be too much to ask, but that would be cool.

Which makes me think that it wouldn't be a bad idea something similar happening for Wii, thought it is nearly impossible.
A Rabbids Triology for Wii was made, but and if for Wii it included R2, RArena and R3?

I agree with pretty much everything you’ve said, but what’s this about using the US intro? I grew up with the Magician’s EU voice and the US one just sounds wrong to me. I hope they leave the US intro in the US version and the EU intro in the EU version.syntheticgerbil wrote:I mean I would HOPE they include the Saturn or PSX version of Rayman 1 with the US intro language as well the better colors and MOVIES. I think there are a few different ways they could include the extra GameCube minigames. I guess they could make Mad Trax into an online game where one player controls Rayman in the shoe and another player plays the Tetris-style game, and both players could have a picture-in-picture screen showing what the other one is doing. Wheelis would be the same but with four players instead of two. Or perhaps they could release R3 GBA as a PSP Mini and have it connect with the PS3 version of Rayman 3. Either way, 2D Nightmare would be very easy to include.

Haha, I guess I feel the same way about the US intro voice then. Just grew up with it and the other sounds wrong to me.spiraldoor wrote:I agree with pretty much everything you’ve said, but what’s this about using the US intro? Yeah picture in picture would probably work.spiraldoor wrote:I think there are a few different ways they could include the extra GameCube minigames. Also to play Mad Trax you didn't even need to own R3 on GBA, as it just downloaded the tetris aspect of the game to the GBA without a cartridge needed. I'm almost certain they could put the same App in the PSP's memory as it probably took up very little space.

Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
I see what you're saying but my reasoning was based on the word 'Trilogy'. I mean, you don't announce a Star Wars trilogy and then release 'A New Hope', 'Empire Strikes Back' and 'The Clone Wars'.spiraldoor wrote:AJack wrote:Honestly, I'd be very surprised if this pack isn't Rayman 1, Rayman 2 and Rayman 3. Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
This is hardly conclusive. The Rayman stories don’t have an overarching storyline like Star Wars, so releasing three random standalone titles from the series in one package makes about as much sense as releasing the first three games of the actual series. And why wouldn’t they call it a ‘Trilogy’? ‘Rayman Trilogy’ sounds much better than an accurate description, such as ‘Rayman 3, a dodgy remake of Rayman 2 plus a spin-off party game that’s not really very good’.AJack wrote:I see what you're saying but my reasoning was based on the word 'Trilogy'. Of course I hope that I’m wrong, but this seems like the most probable course of action for them to take.
Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
You make good points. It's only that there are definitively three games that fit the traditional trilogy numbering system that gives me hope - It'd be very easy to choose a different word in the place of trilogy if it weren't going to BE a trilogy. On top of that, Sony have already got access to a PS3-ready version of the original Rayman (the PSOne Classics edition) on file, so hopefully that will have some influence.spiraldoor wrote:This is hardly conclusive. Early days though. For all we know now it could contain that educational game, the Rayman Print Studio and a port of Rayman Kart.

Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
The Prince of Persia Trilogy has been officially announced. There is now no doubt that the Rayman Trilogy is genuine.
Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
Other companies have done things like this or at least make ports or remakes, and with what spiral just said, it has to be done. How hard could it be, really?

Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
That's the problem. It's Ubisoft. Even worse is if they hand it off to Gameloft, which is Ubisoft's "crap games" department.
I'm starting to think if this does happen, it most likely won't include the first Rayman, since that wouldn't lend itself too well for an HD remake at all.

Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
Here are some Prince of Persia Trilogy screenshots for anyone who hasn’t seen them yet. Click them for the ginormous versions.

The compilation will be released on the 19th of November... exclusively in Europe. Since we now know that the rumour was correct, we can expect a Rayman Trilogy announcement any day now (the Rayman one is coming out on the 4th of November, fifteen days before the Prince of Persia one, so the order of the announcements is a bit weird). Prince of Persia will have stereoscopic 3D, antialiasing, and most importantly, higher-resolution textures. I expect Rayman to have the same, what with the two trilogies being upgraded and released at about the same time by the same company and all.

Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
(Woohoo, first post on this site.)
Just wanted to say that this sounds awesome. I'm loving all these PS2 HD rereleases (God of War, Sly, PoP) and Rayman would be amazing too. I'm just wondering: Are we 100% sure that this trilogy is coming?
Also, if it indeed is on its way, I'm expecting the package to have Rayman 1, Rayman 2 (Great Escape or Revolution) and Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. Anything else would be stupid for Ubisoft to do. But hey, I don't own the company, so I might be wrong.

Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
This looks great. I'm definitely getting a PS3 now. I'm actually hoping that they include Revolution, because I can't get that game, and it seems unlikely that they would include a full Dreamcast port.
And Rayman 1 should be easy to port since it's already on the PSN. If they do make the idiotic decison to include Rayman M, it had better have online multiplayer.

Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
Damn! I wish that they do that for Xbox 360 becouse i don´t have Rayman Revolution!
Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
Maybe they could release two seperate packages? One with Rayman 1, 2, and 3 and the other ones could be grouped together into some other pack. Idk what games, though.

That’s not realistic. Nobody would buy the other pack.NRJF wrote:Maybe they could release two seperate packages? One with Rayman 1, 2, and 3 and the other ones could be grouped together into some other pack.
Re: Rayman Trilogy for PS3?
Well then what do we do with all the other games except for 1, 2, and 3? Putting them with 1, 2, and 3 isn't that bad of an idea but idk, seems strange to do.spiraldoor wrote:That’s not realistic. What ‘other games’ are you talking about? Rayman M and what else? I think most of them can be safely brushed under the carpet and forgotten about.NRJF wrote:Well then what do we do with all the other games except for 1, 2, and 3?
