Rayman 2 on Windows 7?

Is there way to install and play Rayman 2 on a Windows 7 x64 machine without using virtual machines? There must be a way...

I cannot help in that. I never tested Rayman games in computers with 64-bits architecture.

Well, again, I've tried testing Rayman 2 with a new gaming laptop I received (Windows 7 64-bit installed), and it's still a no go. HOWEVER, if you do have a 32-bit Vista/7 OS, you can play the game just fine with the No CD Patch.

Currently, on my Vista 32-bit machine, I'm running and playing the game just fine with Rayman 2 and it's config program running in admin mode (though in admin mode, Joy2Key doesn't seem to work). However, it's a minor sacrifice considering I can play it in WIDESCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN. And my gamepad appears to work just fine anyway (I just use Joy2Key to bind Escape and F1).

Again, if you want to play this game on a 64-bit OS, find a torrent site and download the game. It doesn't install merely because the piracy protection program on the CD is 16-bit software. On 64-bit operating systems, 16-bit software is no longer supported.

Someone keen in programming could try to create a patch or a crack in order to make the game fully work in Windows 7. I hate the pirate head that appears.

It fully works, Yami?

When I say "working" is "No pirate head in anywhere, from the title screen until the credits".

Sure. I play with the CD of 1999, and it got many erasures since I own it.
Nevertheless I remember Rayman M work on XP but with a lot of weird bug :?

Then I don't know my in my laptop's Windows 7 it appears a big Henchman head from half of the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire until the end of the game. :(

The pirate head doesn't appear in the beggining of the game until the first half of the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire. After the Pirate Head stays.

Hi guys!

I'm playing Rayman 2 on Seven, and I'm getting the infamous pirate head glitch, which makes it kinda hard to play the game, and even harder to get screenshots! I've tried several patches, none of them being of any help, so I'm asking you for either:
  • A disk image of a working CD of Rayman 2 (not all versions trigger the glitch)
  • The program files of a working game (whether it's patched or not)
Could anyone please upload any of these? It would be of great help :) Thank you guys!

You could have asked this in the Windows 7 topic.

I also experience the problem in my laptop, that has got Windows 7 Home Premium.

I really wouldn't like to let R2TGE for PC die in Windows XP... :(

Thank you moderator Haruka :P Merging the two topics would be a good idea, but let's wait a little for more visibility.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional and the result is the same. For what I know, the pirate head does only appear in more recent versions of the game, which leads me to think that getting our hands on an ISO of a working version may allow Windows 7 users to play the game, despite the absence of any working patch on this operating system.

So, could anyone please provide us with a disk image of one of those working versions? Thank you ;)

Are you sure it is from the most recent versions? Because I think mine is around the year 2001/2002. I wonder if the 10th Anniversary Edition causes this problem too.

I have the 10th anniversary and one from 2005 maybe. If you want on of these just yell.
