Well that guy can go to hell. I never thought I’d say this but I don’t think I can muster the strength to debunk all of his vapid arguments again. ‘You are only proving my point’, ‘You must be a fanboy’, ‘Your argument doesn’t make sense’ – a veritable tempest of clichés.

Aaaah consumerism 8)

No really if I really was unhappy with a game I just trade it in [if it's good money!!] or sell it on eBay. I mean we weren't all that happy with New Super Mario Bros Wii but we're not complaining to Nintendo about it.

Besides Ubi aren't exactly Co-op.

The guy bought the game without informing himself conveniently, and he didn't even had a look to the back of the box?

Sorry about my honesty but it is necessary to be stupid enough. :boon:

I couldn't help myself but laugh...
Seriously, as many other people pointed that out, he shouldn't blame Ubisoft for not being aware of buying a remake of a game!
Didn't he at least do research about what it is about?
BTW, I thought the cover already gives away the Rayman 2 design... Or is it just me..?

This is what it is called "The fault is always to the others, not me because I am perfect and I never fail and/or assume errors.".

As I said, it is necessary to be stupid enough. I never buy a game without informing myself :boon:! That would be the same as going to a café asking for a Coke, thinking it was Pepsi and then you just after blaming the Coca-Cola Company that it is their fault that the Coke isn't written as Pepsi-Cola!
BTW, I thought the cover already gives away the Rayman 2 design... Or is it just me..?
It is a fragment of the Sega Dreamcast's European cover of Rayman 2: The Great Escape.

Yeah, and the fact about proving his point by giving examples (or something), telling other people about how they have no sense of ethics...
Wow, just wow...

I've done such a thing when buying a new mobile phone. I was in the shop and wanted to buy a new phone. I trusted the person who was telling me about a certain model. Now I can only blame myself because the person didn't know a thing about the phone they were selling... (or I am that guillible)

I'd say that it's an edited version of it - otherwise there would be some of the background in the cover...
But still, it isn't the most recent design of Rayman Ubisoft uses, so why would anyone think it's OMGIEQWHFEYWQT DA NEWEST GAME..?
The only excuse would be if the company was already making the second episode (I think), but it isn't happening...

Especially trying to prove that Spiraldoor was wrong . It is clear enough he doesn't really know him.

It would be better to have shutted up at first, and assuming since the begining that he was stupid. It just gets so bad in the picture ... Really, shall I next time buy a game without informing myself first? 8P Consumism at its best.

A common problem in shop assistants: they usually haven't any formation about the products they sell. How many examples I've confronted every time I visited gaming and informatic shops.

Well, yesterday night I was able to finish Rayman 3D.

My list of pros and cons:

Pros:

- Some character and object models do are remastered with better shaping, like Rayman's hair, Globox in general, bridges have more volume, kegs are rounder, Polokus' pillar corners are more smooth, etc
- The controlling is good in overall, it works well. I liked the change of the shooting button from A to X: it is more practical.
- The 3D depth is well done
- There are good loading pictures, and I also like to see the small running Rayman in the down-right corner of the touch screen
- Remember the hole of the Tomb of the Ancients? The secret still is accessible. :)

Cons:

- I miss Ubisoft's Rainbow logo, but nothing can be done now
- The 3D model of Rayman 3D title is worse than the original one of Sega Dreamcast version
- There is no voice in the intro, where Polokus is suppoused to talk
- The touch screen could have more use and a better visual: there is no stylus interaction.
- The sound effects sometimes seem to play incomplete (Like shooting several energy spheres and Henchmen's sounds) and others seem omitted (like Rayman doesn't scream in cutscenes where he was suppoused to do so)
- The music is very loud (But at least you can fix that in the options, to make SFX higher than music)
- No Globox Village ( :pascontent: )
- No Globox Crystals
- No downloadable minigames of Sega Dreamcast
- Some fishes appear to have only one eye (Wierd)
- Super Yellow Lums have a wierd look
- Some textures seem flipped upside down, like the eyes in the cages, the jumping eyes and flames
- Axel and Foutch haven't got their auras
- Why the heck when Rayman grabs a Power Fist, his fists don't turn gold?! *Looks to Ubisoft with disapprovement look*
- Why the heck the scenes of getting a Polokus Mask play in MIDI version?! :boon:
- I've experienced a very wacky glitch in the Precipice part of the Helicopter Bombs: sometimes they appear invisible and Rayman gets blasted with no reason at all, but it didn't happen the entire time fortuneatly
- There are some nonsense graphical glitches present in the game, but it isn't as bad as what happened with Rayman DS (One example: you see a 2D texture in one side, but in the other side it gets invisible ; Rayman's waves of his energy spheres seem also incomplete ; other random graphical glitches )
- The strafe button should be in R button, not the L as in Playstation 2
- I have also experienced problems to catch the 1000th Yellow Lum: the spider web acts as a normal floor, and not a trampoline. I could only jump to the hole thanks to the small spiders, but when I tried to slide to the exit Rayman freezed. At least the game saves the caught Lums and Cages if you go to the pause screen and decide to exit the level so, it is still possible to complete the game 100%.
- Strange, the Grolgoth Salesman has got eyes in the loading screen
- I just caught a huge mishap by watching the Grolgoth scene where it was shaking Rayman: the ears were HUGE (More graphical glitches...)
- The Yellow Lums can follow Rayman more easier at approach, but I think this kinda "destroys" part of the fun of the game and lows down the difficulty level of the game
- The camera works wierd sometimes, something that didn't happen in other normal versions
- The health bar also acts strangely here
- The bonus levels seem also easier to beat
- The FPS isn't constantly at 60
- The Flying Shell controls were slightly adapted to the 3DS, which made the spinning button disappear. This also kinda makes the Crow's Nest level harder to beat (and when trying to access the Easter Egg thing in the same level, the player struggles to reach the end because the Flying Shell starts to "work automatically")

Final opinion: I can make sure that this port it isn't as bad as with Rayman DS ported from Nintendo 64's Rayman 2 but still, Ubisoft could have taken much more advantage of this version and spent more time in improving it. Why not adding exclusive extras, like Nintendo is doing with the upcoming remake of Zelda's Ocarina of Time? *Sigh* Well, at least I still enjoyed to play this :). It is a good option for people who want to start to know about Rayman 2, but only if they neither own the DC version or cannot play the PC version in their computers (Someone should create a fix for Windows 7... or confirming if it fully works 100% in Windows XP Mode). I think I give it a 70% in the best of chances.

We need to get some whips into the teams behind it and actually get them to work on something good.

*Thumbs up*

Funny how fans are much more exigent than the own developers of the games.

That's a very good question you have there. Now, I'm aware that Revolution isn't all that popular with everyone here, but at least that was one hell of an ambitious port. Of course, they wouldn't have had to change as much this time around, but at least something to make it stand out, like new minigames and such. Maybe they could even go all the way and add Rayman M as a secondary multiplayer mode for the game, and put in an online feature for it too. Obviously they'd have to adjust a few things to make the two games fit more together, but I'm sure it would be possible. :)

Ah, but this is just wishful thinking.

Globox Village was an undeniably great addition to the game. Future ports should attempt to add similarly unobjectionable features.

Cutting out the Hall of Doors, randomly splitting and recombining levels etc is polarising and thus unwise.

Yes. Future ports. Hypothetical ports of Rayman 2: The Great Escape to new videogame systems which may be released in the future. What’s so funny about this?

No I didn’t. Please don’t try to criticise my spelling, even in jest; you will succeed only in making a fool of yourself.

What Rayman holds is an orange Energy Sphere. RayWiki is your friend.
