Hi everyone!

For the sixth time, Pirate-Community is going to organise a posts in a day record. We have had a lot of newcomers lately, so here is a short description for those of you who joined us in the meantime:

Each year since 2006, we organise a posts in a day record at PC. The whole thing is quite simple: it consists in posting the most possible messages in a predetermined time span of 24 hours. The goal is not only to break a new record every year or bring more activity to the forums, but also to shuffle our topics in order to bring new discussions for the following year.

This is not a spam contest, and useless messages are obviously not welcome. However, the special conditions during the record day will be the cause of a certain leniency, especially as concerns old topics, which can be bumped freely.
The stakes are high, as our goal is to break the outstanding record of 15600 messages! Of course, participants will get loads of bonus Tings: each post is worth 15 Tings within the given time span, and then come the bonus Tings: 1500 for participating (i.e. posting at least one message), 1500 for beating one's own posts in a day record (you can ask me to calculate it for you), and 3000 Tings for the winner. For example, someone once ended up with the staggering amount of 42420 Tings that day.

As for the date, I suggest Saturday July 30th from 0.00 AM to 12.00 PM (GMT+1), which will have to be adjusted depending on your time zone (feel free to post your time zone here if you aren't sure). For instance, it would be from July 29th at 11.00 PM to July 30th at 11.00 PM in the UK.

So, is that all right for everyone?

Can't tell you yet, but I still do not post a lot. However, get ready for a Off Topic Topic Surprise then (it's quite ready).

The date sounds fine to me. I'm only engaged during the week commencing 13th August :D

BTW. I have a dilemma. (That's what it's called right?) I have that my surprise, but it may distract people from posting because they will need to... erm, how to not spoil that... analyse it. So they will not be posting if they will be interested. Should I reveal it on record day or not?

Here comes the trick: if I will reveal it on record day, and people will take time to... analyse it, then they can comment it and so make more posts.

Try the hours right after record day, there should be a lot of people online.

Hm... what about a day before the post record (29th)? People could analyse my surprise and discuss it on Sunday, right?

Dunno yet what I'll be doing on that day but I'll try to be here.

Same for me.

But I won't attempt to break my own record, I'll just post normally. :oops2:

This day I wont nothing except post, so I will have time for win post and beat my record
