Trust me, there are lots of stupid people in this world. :P
I bow before your superior knowledge and experience, oh wise one.
Well, you are a lot more wise than me, and I suppose this contains sarcasm?

If companies always went back to basics that would be really lame actually. Change is the ever-lasting evolution of ideas, and it's better than moving nowhere at all, let alone going backwards.

You know, I doubt that Rayman 4 will ever be made. If it were to be made, then the newcomers from the last 7 years would be confused, as they might not have ever played the games.
The newcomers would have to be pretty stupid to be confused by the presence of the number ‘4’ in the title of a self-contained game. Even if they had not played the previous games, they would immediately recognise that Rayman 4 is a sequel. These games are not story-dependant. You do not need to have played all of the previous instalments in order to enjoy and understand the latest one.
Best post ever.

I got off-topic, sorry.
I wanted to get back to the Rayman RPG idea. Wouldn't that be amazing? Perhaps Ubisoft should take a looi at this idea. I think it should have the darker atmosphere used to describe Rayman 4. I truly wonder what Ubi's next step will be after Rayman Origins.

By the way, I believe the japanese version of Rayman Raving Rabbids has an ''4'' on the cover. Woukd that mean RRR is truly Rayman 4?

If you think about it though, if Rayman 4 were real, the darker atmosphere could potentially create one of the best and most creative games on the market. I'm not saying that as a fan, I'm speaking literally.

I've always been a fan of dramatic stories. One containing Rayman would make a good combination. I still wonder why such a masterpiece turned into a jolly party. :?

Haha, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. :mrgreen:

Nothing could make that game Rayman 4, least of all the Japanese marketing team.

The game also contains a "4" in the Disc Channel of Wii, when you have it inserted in the console.

I doubt that would work. Using a cartoony mascot character in a dark and dramatic plot would seem very out of place, and probably fall completely flat. The Sonic series is a good example of this.

The early RRR might have turned out darker than previous games, but this would probably only apply to the general atmosphere more than anything else, seeing as the story would still be about evil bunnies taking over the world.

@Haruka
I noticed that too!

@Dango
I suppose you're right. Would have loved to see the Picture City cavern in 3D. :?

Sonic isn't really an example of what will happen, it's more of an example of doing it wrong.

You can’t improve everything by grimdarking it. It may have worked for Nolan, but that was an isolated incident. Rayman should stay Rayman.
