I use GIMP to make the sigs, I use loads of blurring effects and a countless number of others. Some functions I use is oilify, cubism, illusion, and gaussian blur.
 
Those transparant images are called "Renders", you can search for them online, a good site is http://www.planetrenders.net

You can do it yourself though but simply rubbing out the background or use the magic wand tool to select the background and delete them. You may need to add an alpha layer onto the image if it's in jpg form (or any other image type that doesn't support transparancy).
 
Could I just have a background sig, so I can add things on top.
I would like a field with a wall in the background and a platform for a hoodboom.

EDIT: could you make it so it is bigger; maybe about 750 * 250.

That might be a bit much. Hoodie doesn't even have 5000. He would have to give away all his tings? :?
 
I actually made the post before I notcied his ting count. But it's a fair price considering I spent an hour searching for the pics, and hour putting it all together and then having to re-do it again. (Not searching for the pics but putting it together in the first place was awfull)

EDIT : 4000 would be fine though,

I found the platform on google images, took forever to find since searching "platform" or even "wooden platform" gave you shoes.

At first I searched platform and then I searched Wooden platform, both giving shit results.
