Especially if it needs to be put exactly right?
Nope.

Re: ''
Don't be a fucking hypocritical idiot, pardon my French. Fossils cannot tell whether or not certain events took place. Guess what, fossils of dinosaurs were also genetically tested to be from millions of years ago! There may have been a flood, but that doesn't mean that it had anything to do with the Bible. If it did, then the Bible "based" it on a true story, since it's obvious that every one of the billions of species on this planet - times two - made it onto a giant wooden boat. Not to mention the vast amounts that would have either died of sickness or fallen overboard. Now the reason there have been fossils buried deep underground is most likely due to the continental shift of Pangea. Who knows what could have been shifted and buried all over the place?Rsandee wrote:Some bullshit you got right there..RayTunes wrote:OK, but there is also no evidence that there isn't a invisible planet called ''Blaargh''on which 1,500 copies of me run around like crazy idiots, wear Smurf suits, eat purple ice cream and worship RayFan while crushing a snail with their feet and saying ''It's A Me! Mario!'' because they just received nine messages on their iPhone's saying ''Tee Hee Hee!'' that have all been marked as Spam because the creators of the phone think Japan is gay and have written a book about the fact that more than 400 hamburgers were eaten in Hogwarts during the 1998 because they were really hrungry and all yelled ''Lotsa Spaghetti!'' on Christmas Eve. Oh, they also did all this while listening to the new single from OK Go.Rsandee wrote:@Raytunes.
There is no evidence that God exists, but there also isn't any decisive evidence that he doesn't exist.
God can't be put in a formula for math or something, and if people believe this, don't think they're morons for doing so.
EDIT: Mormons have nothing to do with Christians, and I think EVERYONE here can understand that.
Just because there isn't evidence, doesn't mean we have to believe. But if I put this in a book and call it ''The Bible'' we suddenly think it's real?
Think about it, religion has changed over the years. Greek gods could be just as real as the ones we believe in these days. However we don't get scared from lighting because a God is striking the clouds with his hammer.
The Bible is a book, and in that book there are ''stories'', for example a great flood.
This ''great flood'' has been proved to exist.
There are fossils of it, and there was discovery of an underwater coastline in the Black Sea off of the coast of Turkey that is four hundred feet under water, which is the amount of water that the ocean level rose after the flood.
It's not ''decisive evidence'' that God exists, but it DOES mean that not everything in that book is bullshit.
That planet of yours, doesn't because you obviously made it up, and not even a single ''fact'' of it has been proved to exist.
And the fact that nobody have heard or seen of it, and that it's impossible that they know even the slightest bit of our planet.
Coming from everything I've ever heard and formulated, to me the Bible was a fictional book written by a few people intended to be a book of morals and lessons to be learned and interpreted in one's own method. However it's too obvious that a great number of these morals don't apply today unless homosexuals and non-conformists are evil. This is obviously false, is not the word of God, and is a load of misinterpreted fictional bullshit that doesn't apply to us in many ways today.

btw why do you guys have to make an argument about it because there is not enough proof for both of the sides to be proven.

But while there isn't any solid evidence on either side, there's an uncountable amount of logical things that point to the scientific solution, and none that point to the religious one.
Also I dare someone to change the name of this thread to "Religion - your Jews."

Re: Religion - your views
Am I the only one extremely annoyed when there's some random RPC member posting here saying he's an atheist without making arguments themselves?
I hate it when people litterally copy their views from someone else, without thinking for themselves.
Just saying: ''Lol, religion is for morons who can't think, atheism has backup from science lololol, there's no way religion can be right'' is completely moronic.
And saying I'm a hypocrite is just stupid.
When atheists come up with fossils as ''evidence'' it's alright, but now that I did it it's not?
I know that fossils are not very reliable, because you can't exactly see how a creature looked like or smelled or which colour he had, because It's just a print of it's bones. (or it's bone itself)
However, saying that the Bible was just a book of morals, is also fictional bullshit.
It's your own view, thus it's fictional.
And if you imagine it yourself, I have nothing against it, as long as you don't call me a fucking hypocritical idiot.
@Raytunes, Eddy Murphy still is my favourite comedian, I don't know if he's an atheist or not, but I don't even fucking care.

But the fossil thing. My side of the argument tells how finding fossils proves there was massive life millions of years ago via genetic testing. That is 100% foolproof and proper. Your side of the argument says that there are fossils buried deep underground, therefore it must be because of a giant biblical flood (when in reality it could have been from numerous different causes that are actually physically possible). For one matter, there isn't enough water on the freaking planet to rain like that.

Huh?!RayFan9876 wrote:Also I dare someone to change the name of this thread to "Religion - your Jews."
Again, I don't really want to get involved in a big argument in this topic, but some things here made me say this: please, please don't argue over the Torah as if it were a part of the Christian canon, and therefore something that was the cause of so many deaths. If there's one thing I really hate about Christians, among the many things that already make me loathe them, it's that they say they believe in the Torah and make it part of their canon, but don't do a thing said in it. The reason I always write things about my religion in different topics is because I live my religion every day, from when I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. Christians don't have that, and as far as I know, so does every other religion (not counting monks). But what really makes me go punching babies in the face is how atheists talk about the Torah. It usually goes something like this: 'The Torah made people go on crusades and kill millions, it made the inquisition go bad and start killing innocent people'. The Jews were the ones who suffered the biggest losses from all of these horrible events, goddamit!!! And the Christians didn't even follow their own testament when they did these things. Also, I've seen people say 'the god of Christianity is way better than the god of Judaism. He's called the god of mercy, while the Jewish god is called the god of vengeance'. You know, the rabbis from the rabbinical era were called 'kotlim', which means 'lethal ones'/'murderers', because of the cruel punishments and ways of execution they performed on sinners. The people who judged in the inquisition were 'merciful', 'kind', 'men of the lord'. You know how often a sinner in Israel was put to death? Worst case scenario, once in 80 years, if the rabbis were exceptionally brutal. I don't even need to say how often the inquisition executed someone.
About the flood, there is proof that such an event took place a few thousand years ago. Not through fossils, but through other things. There are also ways for god to naturally open the sea for the Hebrew to pass through (as I learned in school, there's not one miracle of god that can't be explained by natural forces, because god always acts through nature).
As I said in another topic, a lot of the Torah's commands can be explained as healthy measures. Circumcision is a great example. And what about sacrifices, you ask. Well, the explanation for that one is obvious: we had, and still have, a need for worshipping a deity in the popular way. Then, it was sacrifices, so god ordered us to sacrifice to him instead of to other gods. Then, when sacrifice stopped being popular, we started praying. We have a need for that kind of thing, and atheists just satisfy themselves elsewhere.
Also, don't ever, EVER, dare to call me a pagan, because I will find you. I will find you, and I will break your legs. Why? Because Christianity is the most pagan religion today, and I've been to India. There's nothing monotheistic about it. People actually worship a dead guy's body. I always wondered: Jesus died on the cross, so the cross is Christianity's symbol. But what if he had died of AIDS?

It's probably not a good idea to state things without any viable proof. Oh, it's just something I read in a newspaper. Well, maybe it's just atheist Jews. They're the most provocative kind of people there is. Seriously, no matter what you say annoys you, they'll do it. My aunt, who's so anti-religious, she screamed at my brother for being 'apathetic' to her feelings when he said something didn't fit well into his and most of the family's religious schedule (that is, events in the Sabbath). She heard Jewish people are called 'the chosen people' (racist bullcrap, BTW), so she immediately stated she believes the Tibetans are the chosen people and that she's going there next year to visit and worship the 'real chosen people'. Well, considering the fact that its physically impossible for the ocean water level to raise due to rain, these "underwater cities" couldn't have been caused by a flood. Where do you think the water comes from? That's right, the ocean. All rain is doing is taking away ocean water and putting it back. The water is virtually the same height as it was two thousand years ago, aside from gradual environmental changes.iambored2006 wrote:Oh, it's just something I read in a newspaper. Well, by a lack of tolerance I mean those states are heavily opinionated, value harsh punishment for crimes, and are quite intolerant of other people's beliefs, as they are heavily Christian communities.stan423321 wrote:Which tolerance do you mean, by the way?
