You go think that out. I need to reposition the thumb. D:

Edit: Okay done! Phew... I must have been working on this all day, at least! Well, I played some Tornado Outbreak in between.

Well you sure got the hang of this fast! :) Have you actually 3D modeled before?

I tried Blender once, but I never got the hang of it. Other than that, this is the first time I actually sculpted something this detailed out of a square.

I want to be able to animate soon. Guess it's the head's turn tomorrow.

So did you already figure out how to bridge polygons together?

And good luck with the head. :)

With the bridge button...right? I haven't really used it yet. I don't think it's important here, especially with Rayman.

I can't wait for the texturing and animating part... XD Darn it!

Nah, texturing's not so bad. It's easier than modeling, but possibly more time consuming (depends on the person).

(I'm reposting this since I edited it heavily):
Also about ROTD: I've got a helicopter system working. However in this, Rayman's animations and movements are much more dynamically physics driven, so the helicopter actually feels like it's pushing against the air to slow your fall. It works really well. Because of this I made it so you can only activate helicopter while just about to start the descent of your jump/fall so you can't cheat by activating it early, making you jump super high.

Is bridging important though? To me it only seems like a way to connect two objects.

It's a useful tool, at least I use it a lot. I've used it for some things like to make the branches on trees, and to make Rayman's hair.

Really? Wouldn't have guessed. The hair doesn't look bridged.

I'm gonna figure out later how I will do mine. I'm mostly aiming for the RO style Rayman so his hair is gonna be more...well, hairy. I'll probably do it the same way as I did the hands, in which I began with the palm and built the fingers out of it.

Well for example, in the Rayman 2 style, I made his hair conjoined out of multiple box primitives and some other PolyEdit/Bend modifiers and stuff. You'll notice the mesh-work wouldn't match up to a single primitive:

Yeah, I notice how it looks. So, you bridged the head and hair together? At first I understood you bridged the two hair flops together. Anyway, we'll see if I need that tool tomorrow. :mryellow:
