I never understood why PC emulators run slower on pc

Then the actual System
even though pc is more power full
Take Rayman revolution for an example

Has anyone else seen this? It's gameplay of the Japanese version of Rayman 2.

This version looks very weird. I see that most of the characters are missing textures so they look more smooth and have less detail, Globox and his kids look more cute (and the insides of their mouths are light pink and un-detailed), Rayman is wearing blue (because purple is the color of death in Japan), and the Teensies have creepy eyes. Oh god, those Teensie eyes. They're gonna give me nightmares...
Two words that describe what are far worse than those Teensies: "Japanese Ly"

PC's may be more powerful, but it's because of the way that consoles work and how hard PC's have to work in order to replicate it that makes it slow, along with the added factor of FRAPS (used to record footage) which makes you lose even more FPS's.

THE Japanese Rayman Revolution one. :mryellow:

Even without FRAPS, the game runs with some lagging, but that's an emulator issue because from everything I tried in the emulator it gives the same result/worse.

But everything I said was right, oh wise and mighty Haruka? ;)

I'm curious if they changed the purple Henchman's colours too - I mean, he would look great in purple if purple really does imply death. Pirate of death.
Also, I took a look at the Teensie eyes, and I know what you mean, MGC, but I actually like them for some reason. They're a nice deep blue colour and a lot more detailed than the black variants - though I think I'll stick to the regular ones too for personal reasons, if you know what I mean. ;)

Because, surprise, diguising is tiring.

Emulation of a system means you must have a few instructions to execute any instruction of the original processor or use less instructions to approximate it, which may not end up well. This takes a lot of time, especially considering RISC processor of PS2/Wii/really every console after 1996 but original Xbox and CISC processor of older consoles, Xbox and - oh well - PCs.

I watched more of the walkthrough after posting that comment, and yeah. Ly looks so fucked up. She wears white (I'm guessing it's because of how the original suit color blended in too well with her skin, and made it look like she was naked. Heck, for the longest time, I always thought Ly was naked, LOL), and I hate how her eyes look.

Is there a PSP version of Rayman 2? if yes, can someone give me a download link?
Only Rayman 1 is available on the PSP.
The Ps1 version of Rayman 2 is also available for download on PSN here in the UK in addition to Rayman 1.
But if you're looking for the original version, you'd have to be able to use homebrew on your PSP and use an N64 emulator to play a Rayman 2 ROM.

Who knows the origanal rayman 2?
As in 'PC'? I do. It's the one version I've played something like seven times over all the way through across the years. Tried DS once but couldn't get passed the Fairy Glade because for one my left thumb hurt like hell and secondly the controls were dead awful. Trying to play Revolution now but only slowly progressing.

i beleive the original rayman 2 was 2D then tured to 3D
i got to play it because of RAYMAN 2 on PLAYSATION 1
But i played it on playstion network on ps3

It was scrapped because Ubisoft noticed they'd be in serious competition with the Nintendo 64 and the original result would have been satisfactory at best. Fortunately, Rayman 2 as it is today turned out to be a masterpiece.

What makes you say that? What was wrong with it?

Rayman 3D got a 5.5 score reviewed on IGN
I think it should of gotten a higher score
No it shouldn't. [N]Gamer was nice and gave it a 6, but they said that it's simply disappointing. They were interested in the announcement, as it sounded like a actual new Rayman game, but that it turned out the saddest Rayman 2 ever. Why? Because it is the EXACT game that Rayman DS is and came out together with the console like Rayman DS, and that after all these ports they still managed to get glitches like invisible bombs and getting hit by the wall. They stated that it was simply unacceptable to call any port of Rayman 2 after Revolution a good game or new game.

It was no huge difference from the first game and it was during a time where 3D was all new.
