Yeah, well, i thought it'll be easier and more fun for me, as i like drawing and i can just explore as i draw, Y'know?Kurui wrote:D'awww. Well I hope to see your comicness soon though can you put it up on other sites besides DA cause that hates me~ Its too bad you decided to not to sprite animations and go with flash/drawing. Theres like so many of those already XD Sprites > Drawings anyday~

To be honest, I've never seen a sprite animation that's held an interesting mood for me, unless it's something along the lines of a YouTube Poop. How come? Sprite animations restrict you entirely to only a few pre-defined poses and expressions (if any at all), and it's very hard to portray the correct emotion for the scene. On top of that, you're using copyrighted material. You'll also notice that sprites are only used in gameplay. When story progression occurs, most 2D games switch to a comic style with descriptive text, or use fully hand-drawn animations. When there's a mid-gameplay event that happens, they usually use short sprite animations, but the vast majority is still gameplay; a whole scene made of sprites, especially if it's fan made, will almost never impress as much as a hand drawn image (providing you have some level of drawing skills).Kurui wrote:Nawww well yeah it is easier since you can draw anything you want, basically. But its more unique to use sprite animations because not too many people do that~ and I thought it was pretty cool.

No, there are far more Rayman sprite animators than flash animators, but there just plain aren't very many Rayman animators to begin with.Kurui wrote:Nah, completely wrong, sprites carry emotions very well. Your only restricted if you don't modify them which I thought he was going to do.....then again I guess I'm probably the only skilled sprite animator on this whole forums (being that my games have all been old school 2d before)? Most people seem to be more into flash and 2d drawings. XD
2d animations get old and boring quick if people mash them into the ground. Sprites are unique and you don't see many people who know how to do them very well these days. From what I know now we're going to have anotehr rehash rayman flash animator instead of something truely unique, which is sad, but hey whatever they want to do~
You watch the Simpsons?RayFan9876 wrote: I would never ever watch The Simpsons if it were animated by a few sprites. That would get stale after a show or two.

Of course, I've watched every episode of The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, American Dad, The Cleveland Show and South Park up to date.Rulez wrote:You watch the Simpsons?RayFan9876 wrote: I would never ever watch The Simpsons if it were animated by a few sprites. WOOP!
I've never watched this. Would you recommend it?RayFan9876 wrote:The Cleveland Show

Lots of people hated it for the purpose of what it was, but I find it to be Family Guy's brother, it's just as good.Rulez wrote:That's cool because I love those shows, except...
