What do you want in Rayman 4?

Can't you share with us any useful topic ideas that actually contribute some level of merit toward the forum? :? Also I believe there was another topic by the exact same name not all too long ago.

Quoted for truth.

Rayman Origins basically IS Rayman 4, and Murphy is in it. So please, stop making fucking pointless topics.

RayFan is right. I hope I don't gather later the will to do Ting deductions to you if you keep opening pointless topics.

Topic locked.

Hello:) this is my first real post as raymann! :), i was wondering whats next for rayman? will there be a real rayman 4? a possible movie or books? whats your thoughts?
i heard that michel ancel was planning a secret game to be revealed ages ago eg. 2006, but he never did, was it rayman? we..will never know! , but anyway, what are your thoughts on this? reply on what kind of rayman game or something else YOU would like to see! :)

Michel Ancel recently implied that they plan to finish the 3D platformer – Rayman 4 – that they were working on back in 2006. Since the Rabbids are no longer part of the Rayman series, they’ll probably be reworking the game with a new set of enemies. The ending of Rayman Origins, with the posters in the Magician’s headquarters, could be seen as hinting at a reappearance of Mister Dark. Unfortunately the commerical failure of Origins might put an end to those plans.

Yeah, i was thinking that the rabbids would be taken out, maybe new enemies from the Rayman 2 2D prototype? who knows ? but anyway, ubisoft are re-releasing rayman 3 hoodlum havoc on PSN and XBL in spring 2012.

Little bit early to call Origins a commercial failure don't you think? Sales might pick up you never know...
I think it's likely there'll be another 3D Rayman game sometime in the next few years, nothing more than speculation at this point of course.
As for other media, I've said it before and I'll say it again, please god don't let there ever be a movie version of Rayman, it would not work.

The high level of a acclaim for Origins leads me to believe that they'll probably keep the highly stylised art design concept in future games but try to appeal to larger audiences. I suspect the fact that it's a 2D platformer puts a lot of people off, as it doesn't have the brand recognition that Mario has and so can't draw people in. Maybe a future 3D iteration will have better luck in the sales department.

Anything can work as a movie, it just needs to be done properly. I myself can picture a Rayman movie turning out quite well, though I have no idea if what I have in mind is the same thing running through the directors' heads.

To each his own I guess, but for me, there's nothing they could do that wouldn't end in a terrible product. I suppose there's certain things I expect from movies, and different things from video games, and when it comes to Rayman, they certainly don't overlap. For me (and for the majority of people) the appeal of Rayman is the excellent platforming and wonderful environments, while the story and characters are whimsical and childishly charming in their own way. When it comes to movies I look for character driven plots, which just isn't something that would work within the Rayman universe. I think any movie that were to come from it wouldn't work on any deeper level than that of a children's movie... and not a good one.

I'm sort of similar, but I feel the Rayman characters could have a very deep personality, specifically Rayman himself and especially with the Rayman 2 style.

I’ve never understood why anyone would want their favourite games to be adapted into films. Books are inherently filmable, considering their total lack of a visual component, but games? They’re practically films already. Just leave them the way they are.
This, they don't need to be made into films, they're games.
