This, they don't need to be made into films, they're games.

Yeah, i agree tbh. i mean, add every single cutscene from ALL rayman games, its pratically a movie! just a couple of captions for example :

" Rayman is now all grown up and has to face the evil RAZORBEARD!?!?! MWHAHAHAAHA! :D "

so, yeah! on OMG FACTS! website, they found a simpsons movie hidden in all the episodes feat. McBainn, so they made a secret hidden movie through episodes.. :)

Because films tend to be a little more story driven than games, plus we get to see our hero rendered in detail on the big screen, and with Rayman's history it aught to look beautiful.

YESH! :) I mean, if you look at the beautiful scenery and music from rayman 2, the graphics and backgrounds of rayman 3 and the colour from 1 and origins, that would be good, if they ever DID make a movie, they should take care in making it, take at least 3 years or so, at the least. i mean it would be just awesome! :) also, for some strange reason, the rayman 2 look would be good for the movie...

They already made a television series, and it was terrible, not to put too fine a point on it. I doubt a film would be any better. Just take its budget and put it into a new game instead.

How can any of you like that thing? It was absolutely nothing like the games, and made zero sense in relation to them. Almost all characters were removed and replaced with new, lame stand-ins, and those that remained were bastardised beyond recognition. Its world isn’t remotely like that of the games. It feels like it began life as some other dull Saturday-morning cartoon, and some executive got the bright idea of shoehorning a recognisable character into the title role.

Believe it or not, and whether you like it or not, plenty of people enjoyed the Animated Series, as did I. Are you suggesting in saying "they're nothing like the games" that they do a video adaption of a specific Rayman game? Tell me how often that's worked out in any other series. Besides, Aeropolis felt quite Raymanesque to me. The characters were absolutely not lame.

Plenty of people enjoyed Twilight and Transformers, too.

The animated series has all the atmosphere, imagination and world-building of any other Saturday-morning cartoon show. It’s dull, disposable children’s entertainment. Nothing that I enjoy about the Rayman games is present in the animated series. I’m not suggesting that they should attempt to adapt a specific game (though a Rayman 2 film would be far better than the irrelevant oddity that was TAS); I’m suggesting that they should never try to make a film or television adaptation of Rayman ever again, because there’s a 95% chance that it’s going to be crap, and there is no way you could justify spending money on a film when Ancel still wants to make another Rayman game.

Sorry for being so blunt, but I think that anyone who enjoyed the animated series is just a fanboy blinded by the sight of their favourite character being on tv, and would enjoy any kind of media in which Rayman made an appearance. I'm completely with Spiral on this.

Billy West is a great actor, and I’d be happy to hear him voice Rayman under other circumstances, but the accent he used in TAS was highly inappropriate. Maybe he wasn’t familiar with the games and just didn’t know what he was doing, or maybe the director actually told him to play the character that way.

Least it's not the Battletoads or the Bubsy cartoon. Man those were clusterfucks.

From what he said to me back in May, all Billy pretty much knew about Rayman was that the franchise was French so they must have just been "do whatever" when going through how to voice.

I enjoyed the Animated Series, but I think if they kept to make episodes, the plot could develop in a more interesting way. The 4 episodes don't show up anything extraordinary, but I liked when Rayman attempted to save Flips in the junkyard. Again, the French voice cast is the best one.

Huh? Flips is awesome. The first episode was the best, by far.

Are you kidding me? It sounds far more likely that you're afraid of a little experimentation than it does that I'm a blind fan. I'm anything but a blind fan, although given the fact that Spiraldoor disagrees on nearly everything I do taste-wise, this must make him right.

Good experimentation:
Rayman Designer
Rayman 2: The Great Escape
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc
Rayman Origins

Bad experimentation:
Rayman: The Animated Series
Rayman Raving Rabbids

So, the original Raving Rabbids was bad, despite all the good reviews and how enjoyable it was? I found it to be one of the few Wii games that I actually had fun with where I didn't feel like an idiot, plus the atmosphere retained Rayman 3's with a slight realistic creative twist.

I did not like any of the follow ups.

It was my heaven before CryEngine3. The very idea of playing and loving the original Rayman, then finding out I can design my own levels was one of the happiest moments of my life. I was not disappointed.
