What's the problem of Rayman Designer?

In any case I'd say that the TV series had its (few) moments, but yeah, it was pretty bad. Especially considering what it did to Razorbeard.
Also, RRR is a good game, but it isn't a Rayman game in any shape or form. Because the Rayman label was slapped on it, however, people who knew Rayman beforehand will always compare and judge it to the actual Rayman games, and as these people are fans of platformers and not necessarily party games, it will pretty much always fall short. I just seriously hope nobody here is still holding grudges against the Rabbid franchise, especially since it might actually die out after the poor reception of Alive and Kicking.

Re: Rayman's future? A possible REAL Rayman 4?
How exactly does playing a game make you retarded? Are you sure you even know what it means?
As for the game being made to test new technology, that's true, but at least the team cared enough to make it both fun and varied to play. They shouldn't have tried to keep Rayman in it, sure, but that alone is not a very solid reason to hate on the game itself. Just accept that it's a different thing and ignore it if you want to, it can't be that hard with Origins having revived the main series and all.

That is one of the things I didn't like at all in the TV Series. It was a ridiculous design change, and unjustifiable.El Dango wrote:Especially considering what it did to Razorbeard.

Re: Rayman's future? A possible REAL Rayman 4?
So I saw this on the portal and decided to join in.
On the subject of a new Rayman game? Not yet, tbh. We've only just had Origins.
And while I know we won't get one right now, I have to say I'd like to wait at least 2 years for Rayman 4 (or 5?). Not another 8 like last time though
And now I get to monologue about RayTAS. Yay.
Now, you guys may have different reasons for liking it, but being 98 born I missed the good cartoons and was instead stuck with the obnoxious ones that had like 3-parter episodes about I HATE MATH HOMEWORK SO MUCH. So the reason I like RayTAS is because the plotline was epic (i know you disagree) and you had characters that actually gave a crap about their surroundings and I don't mean that in a Captain Planet way. Although the characters weren't developed, and they weren't intelligently written, it was obvious that there was SOME thought put into them.
What I would've liked to see, and probably would have seen if it hadn't gone bust, was a bit more development. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like under-developed characters cus you can make up things about them, but the fact we didn't see Rigatoni and Razorstache (seriously that wasn't Razorbeard) at all after episode 1 kinda...irked me a little. >>
The other thing that annoyed me was that everything was so...convenient. Just everything happened due to plot and was never spoken of again. I refer to the escape scene:
I SUDDENLY HAVE STRENGTH POWERS THAT I WILL NEVER USE AGAIN
OH LOOK, HERE'S A KNIFE THAT I APPARENTLY INVENTED THAT WILL ALSO NEVER BE SPOKEN OF AGAIN
I HAVE SUPER POWERS THAT COULD'VE SOLVED ALL THIS TEN MINUTES AGO BUT I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO TRY BECAUSE I NEED TO TEACH THE KIDDIES ABOUT TEAMWORK
I know that was a bit random, but do you see what I mean? It's like, Rayman only used his powers when he absolutely HAD to (ie once), Cookie SUDDENLY became a machinery genius for PLOT REASONS, and Betina...did nothing. Seriously. She was the most USELESS character in the whole thing. (I don't know why you guys are complaining about Flips; when I re-watched it a few months ago I developed a strong dislike for Betina. Seriously.)
However, I liked the idea behind it and I liked the execution, and I liked the humour. The humour was clever.
Most of you are complaining about Rayman's accent. It didn't bug me THAT much admittedly, but I wouldn't have thought about it myself, put it that way. (Betinas' did, but that's another story.)
TLDR It wasn't the best thing in the world but I enjoy it and other people do so I'm not going to stop liking it just because it's apparently terrible. (:

My friend here can fix your caaah!
I didn't like Rayman's accent here. Fortunately in the French voice cast, it is the actor that voiced him for Rayman 2 and Rayman 3.
Betina perhaps would get a major role in the series if the episodes were continued.
I still don't understand why Razorbeard got so changed in the series. From a feared and badass villain that destroyed 100 planets with a huge army of Robo-Pirates, he suddenly gets a coward circus slave with a whip with a wierd accent and with a mouth that not even a dentist would have interest in fixing it? Come on.

I loved everything about Rayman's accent, I think Billy West fit the role absolutely perfectly.

Shit it has been that long hasn't it, makes me feel ancient. Was only 10 years old when I first played Rayman 3MLII wrote:Not another 8 like last time though![]()
Omg, that was when it went too far and I had to turn it off, nobody on planet earth pronounces "Car" like that as far as I'm awareHaruka wrote:My friend here can fix your caaah!
I assume that's sarcasm? Difficult to tell on interwebz without using "[/sarcasm]"RayFan9876 wrote:I loved everything about Rayman's accent, I think Billy West fit the role absolutely perfectly.

Unlike my post in the Off Topic section, I'm not being remotely sarcastic. I love Billy West's work on RTAS.MrBadGuy wrote:I assume that's sarcasm? Difficult to tell on interwebz without using "[/sarcasm]"

Re: Rayman's future? A possible REAL Rayman 4?
I dare to differ. All of these are not examples of good/bad experiments, they're rather good/bad outcomes recognized by publisher as good outcomes. And to be true, RRR was a good outcome from Ubisoft's viewpoint (i.e. CASH).spiraldoor wrote:Good experimentation:

A good example of a bad experiment would be, say, putting spiraldoor in a Rayman game as a random character replacement without some brainstorming before, as this could be either hated or loved by majority of people (outcome), but would almost surely (known effect) split the fanbase without any outweighing benefits.

Rayman 4
Hello,
A lot of people have been talking about the fact (or rumour) that Michel Ancel has revived the project.
They say that the rabbids will be replaced by other enimies (lol how about killer hamsters? ... sounds like a good idea? no?)
My question is: where have they read this?
And is there any change that this might be true?
Let's hope so ...

We don't know if Michel Ancel has revived the project, but it sounded like he was hinting at it in a French interview I translated here: viewtopic.php?p=642095#p642095
It doesn't mean he has revived the project but it at least means he may be planning to reuse some of the ideas he had for it.

Too bad the interviewer interrupted Mr. Ancel
