I don’t think Comment ? and Canard WC genuinely wanted to kill furries; the thread was just for making fun of them. I don’t know how harmful furries really are, but some of the links Comment ? provided in the original post are quite disturbing.

It is inconsequential. It has no effect on me whatsoever, therefore it doesn't matter. I'll try not to be indignant about it, but I'm not going to accept people not addressing me with my preferred pronouns here.

It's the same reason why someone would have the extreme deepest desire to do anything, because I did not feel right as a male - I felt completely wrong. In fact, I didn't even know I was 'male' until I was five years old. People tend to overthink this subject. It's merely a change. Why is changing gender any different than getting, lets say, the pigments of your hair colour changed permanently from black to red? You can't honestly say that you still have black hair, because you would quite obviously have red hair, regardless of your "genetic identity." My official birth certificate says 'female,' so calling me a male would also be legal misidentification.

Mind you, it was much more than a deep, meaningless desire.

BarkingChaos here is on the right track: why does it matter so much? Gender modification could be as simple as anything else, but lets just say I'm doing it "before it was popular."

No one is entitled to force their beliefs on anyone else. I don’t find it endearing when people try to control my language. You can’t make people think of you as female any more than they can make you think of yourself as male. What if I decided that I was born in the wrong country, and that I’m really African on the inside? I could even dye my skin to make myself resemble one. If you said I was still Irish after this, what would that make you? I hope you can understand why not everyone agrees with your views on sex and sexuality.

I think that the biological reality of what you are is more important than whatever psychological quirk caused you to identify as a female. Every cell of your body contains and was built by male DNA. You were raised as a boy, and spent the first, what, thirteen or fourteen years of your life living and accumulating experience as one. Not only do you lack the female reproductive system, but the genetic instructions required for one are not even present in the completely male DNA that permeates every fibre of your physical being. Taking all of these things into account, I think it’s reasonable to conclude that you are distinctly different from a natural female, and I would like my views on the matter to be accorded the same respect and protection that you seek for your own.

Your birth certificate actually says you were born female? But that’s not true – it’s a direct and deliberate misrepresentation of the facts. I find this sort of fantasy historical revisionism quite worrying. Perhaps one day everyone will be able to retcon their official records to say whatever it is that they want.

I never said I wasn't born female, now did I? I said I have become female. And I never said I had to force my beliefs onto you or anyone, but I can at least expect people to use something as simple as female pronouns, especially in Hoodcom's case. He's been addressing me as a female up until now, so I'm dismayed and saddened to see it stop now over saying "it's against my nature to call you female." No it isn't against anyone's nature. It's merely a choice made through understanding or the lack of it. Besides, this is my lifelong identity, I have only one of those, and I will only ever have one.

Demanding that people refer to you as female even when they do not consider you to be female is forcing your views on them. I wish we could return to the good old days before political correctness became the norm – when everyone could just say whatever they wanted, and activists focused their attention on real-world problems rather than linguistic ones.

This all boils down to real-world problems. For some people, that one little pronoun can mean the difference between life and death.
 
Pronouns aren’t a matter of life and death on this forum, though, and that’s what we’re discussing.

Look, if someone wants you to call them something, merely because it makes them feel better, you could at least consider doing it, no? Sure, you could disregard their request if you wish, but I'm not sure that would help anyone.
